Job summary

HD Supply is seeking a facilities maintenance leader for a complex distribution center environment. You will develop strategies to maximize productivity and manage expenses while ensuring efficient receipt and processing of inventory.

You will lead maintenance of equipment, manage facility layout, and oversee safety, compliance, and contractor relationships to sustain operations. Strong experience in facilities maintenance and DC operations is required.

Qualifications

• BS/BA in a related discipline is required.
• Typical required 7+ years of experience in a related field.
• Certification may offset less experience.
• Advanced degree may offset less experience.

Responsibilities

• Leads operational excellence in warehouse areas, including warehouse management systems and related equipment.
• Ensures inventory is received efficiently and safely processed.
• Manages facility layout, maintenance, and organization of warehouse areas.
• Oversees repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Reviews contractor bids and selects contractors; ensures compliance with standards.
• Reviews reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Maintains safety culture by following policies, monitoring DC safety, security, and inspecting equipment for compliance.
• Coaches, trains, and develops staff with training programs and ensures certifications.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities, And Key Accountabilities

• Leads operational excellence in all warehouse areas, including operations of warehouse management system(s) and related equipment.
• Ensures inventory is received efficiently and is safely processed in the warehouse.
• Administers proper layout of warehouse and product placement as well as maintenance and organization of all warehouse areas.
• Manages all aspects of the facility related to repair, maintenance, and installation of equipment to ensure continuous operations.
• Sources and reviews contractor bids for repairs then is responsible for contractor selection and ensures contractors are compliant with standards.
• Reviews maintenance, production and quality control reports along with statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
• Maintains a culture of safety throughout the organization by following safety policies and procedures as well as monitoring DC safety, physical security, and inspects equipment along with facilities for compliance with safety and operational standards.
• Coaches, trains, and develops through training programs then provides job performance based feedback and ensures technical certifications are achieved and sustained.

Work Environment

• Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
• Must continuously stand or walk or regularly requires lifting/handling/carrying material or equipment of moderate weight (8-20 pounds).
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education And Experience

• Typical requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.
