Job summary

OP RaaS is seeking an experienced IT/Data Center Manager to lead a distributed team responsible for mission-critical enterprise data centers. You will oversee installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of core infrastructure, and coordinate with colocation providers to ensure reliable operation.

The role requires strong leadership, ITIL process participation, and the ability to manage assets, risks, and budgets across multiple sites. Travel to data centers is part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in MIS or computer science or related discipline.
• Five years directly related work experience in information systems.
• Experience managing data center operations and teams.
• Experience with ITIL/service management processes.
• Willingness to travel to data center locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead the team responsible for running mission critical enterprise data centers, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, storage, network, and security hardware.
• Interact with data center colocation providers to ensure smooth operation of facilities maintenance and reliability.
• Participate in IT Service Management processes including change, problem, and incident management.
• Lead IT Asset Management and IT Asset Disposal, ensuring assets are securely tracked and managed.
• Lead triage efforts to diagnose and resolve service-impacting issues.
• Develop and implement processes to ensure compliance, security, reliability, and safety in data center operations.
• Ensure data centers operate securely in compliance with regulatory and internal controls.
• Manage a geographically distributed team across time zones including vendors, contractors, and employees.
• Communicate clearly to stakeholders, including executives, to escalate risks and issues as necessary.
• Develop contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
• Oversee on-site team schedules, including 24x7 on-call rotation across multiple sites.
• Lead and mentor team members and ensure best practices are followed.
• Contribute to contract management and budgeting for data centers.
• Responsible for system support and availability.
• Some travel to data center locations is required.

Manages all information systems operation activities, including computer operations, data entry, data control, and operations support.

Essential Functions

• Lead the team responsible for running mission critical enterprise data centers, including installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, storage, network, and security hardware.
• Interact with data center colocation providers to ensure smooth operation of facilities maintenance to ensure reliability of the environment.
• Participate in IT Service Management (e.g. ITIL) processes including change, problem, and incident management.
• Play a key role in IT Asset Management and IT Asset Disposal, ensuring that all assets are securely tracked and managed.
• Lead triage efforts to diagnose and resolve service-impacting issues.
• Develop, organize, and implement processes to ensure compliance, security, reliability, and safety in data center operations.
• Ensure the data centers operate in a secure manner in compliance with all regulatory and internal controls.
• Manage a geographically distributed team across multiple time zones consisting of vendors, contractors, and employees.
• Communicate clearly to all levels of stakeholders, including executive leadership, to **escalate** risks and issues as necessary.
• Develop and implement contingency plans to address unforeseen challenges.
• Develop and oversee on-site team members daily work schedules, including a 24x7 on-call rotation across multiple sites

• Management experience strongly preferred

Domicile Information:

This position can be domiciled anywhere in the United States. The ability to work remotely within the United States may be available based on business need.

Minimum Education

Bachelor's Degree/equivalent in MIS, computer science or other directly related discipline.Bachelor’s degree required.

Minimum Experience

Five (5) years directly related work experience in information systems environment.
