Job summary

City of Hope is seeking a Manager of Inpatient Pharmacy to lead the development and operations of clinical pharmacy programs, ensuring compliant drug utilization and staff competency across investigational services. You will oversee safety standards per CDPH, ISMP, and FDA, and align with FACT and ASHP residency requirements.

The role involves collaboration with COH Leadership, Nursing, and physicians to advance safe patient outcomes, develop staff, and drive investigational drug initiatives

Qualifications

• Pharm.D. degree required.
• 3 years in hospital pharmacy with supervisory experience.
• Current CA Pharmacy License.
• ASHP Accredited PGY-1 Residency preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, obtain approval, and achieve clinical program goals; ensure appropriate use of medications; manage clinical initiatives to plan and remain compliant with regulations and requirements governing safe and effective clinical practice; provide pharmacy oversight of disease site programs.
• Work with COH Leadership, Nursing Leadership, physicians, pharmacists, and other department managers and key committees to promote safe and effective patient outcomes through advance clinical programs.
• Attract, retain, and develop a quality Clinical Pharmacy Staff with appropriate feedback and evaluation.
• Work with IDS, COH Leadership, Nursing Leadership, physicians, pharmacists, and other department managers and key committees to promote safe and effective use of investigational drugs that meet regulatory standards. Improve investigational drug processes. Promote research collaborations with Physicians, Nurses, and outside network affiliations.

The role is responsible for overseeing and leading the development and operations of Pharmacy clinical programs, with a focus on ensuring appropriate drug utilization, staff competency, and regulatory compliance for investigational drug services. Key responsibilities include maintaining safety standards in accordance with CDPH, ISMP, and FDA requirements; ensuring compliance with accreditation standards, including FACT and ASHP Residency requirements; and providing ongoing training and education for pharmacy staff and students.

The role also provides leadership for clinical and investigational initiatives across disease-site programs through collaboration and affiliation with organizations such as NCCN, HOPA, ASH, ASCO, SWOG, and COG. These initiatives are designed to support and advance clinical practice while remaining aligned with the organization’s overarching goals for patient safety, quality, regulatory compliance, and financial stewardship.

As a successful candidate, you will:

• Doctor of Pharmacy Degree (Pharm.D.)
• 3 years in hospital pharmacy with experience in leading or supervisory capacity
• Current CA Pharmacy License
• ASHP Accredited PGY-1 Residency, preferred
