Job summary

Mercy Jefferson is seeking an Infection Prevention Manager to lead hospital-wide infection prevention, surveillance, and control efforts, partnering with leaders and multidisciplinary teams to advance a culture of safety.

The role provides strategic leadership for the program, ensures regulatory compliance, drives quality improvement, and promotes evidence-based practices protecting patients, staff, and visitors.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's of science in clinical healthcare or health sciences related field.
• Experience: Five years' experience required in Infection Prevention.
• Certifications: Certification in Infection Control required.
• Preferred Education: Master's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify needs of all departments related to infection prevention, develop policies/guidelines, implement education programs to meet needs of all departments and community agencies.
• Disseminate and analyze data for program advancement and prevention of infections; initiate studies and QA projects; assist other departments with research.
• Develop budget and oversee operations of the department; provide support to department staff.

Minimum Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor's of science in clinical healthcare or health sciences related field (e.g., nursing, lab sciences, public health or related field).
• Experience: Five years' experience required in Infection Prevention.
• Certifications: Certification in Infection Control required.
• Preferred Education: Master's degree preferred.
