Position Overview

The Manager in Training (MIT) works with the store manager and store teams to achieve sales goals, drive a customer-focused environment, manage talent and performance, and execute visual standards. The MIT participates in a training program to prepare for a store manager position within 3–6 months and must be relocatable to a specific new store or a group of new and existing stores.

Responsibilities

Customer Obsession

Creates and demonstrates a fashion-focused store environment by delivering product knowledge and fashion expertise to customers. Consistently demonstrates awareness for the customer in actions, priorities and decisions, leading by example through utilization of customer service training resources.

Driving Sales

Manages sales goals by analyzing store performance and adjusting plans. Oversees payroll hours, schedules, visual needs, and promotion implementation. Directs the team to use sales-driving programs such as the associate ordering system and community outreach.

Talent Management

Hires, develops, and provides feedback to associates. Supports talent through orientation, training programs, and succession planning. Coaches associates, fosters a rewarding working climate, and promotes professional growth.

Operational Execution

Sustains an operationally sound store by conducting audits, minimizing inventory loss, enforcing security, maintaining store cleanliness, and ensuring compliance with company direction. Enforces maurices policies and procedures and follows HR resources for policy violations.

Requirements

High School Degree or GED required; a business or retail merchandising degree preferred. Supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment and fashion industry preferred. Proven record of setting and achieving goals, hiring, promoting, and motivating talent, with strong interpersonal and professional skills. Must commit to a specific store location or group of stores.

Unique/Physical Requirements

Work varied hours/days as business dictates. Able to reach, push, pull, stand, squat, and bend for up to 8 hours or longer. Able to handle merchandise up to 50 pounds, operate all necessary equipment, and use a computerized register system.

Pay Range

Hourly: $23.47 - $24.88. Pay will vary based on qualifications, experience, and location. Eligible for monthly incentive compensation based on store performance.
