Job summary

Jacksons Food Stores, Inc. is seeking a Store Manager in Training (MIT) in Idaho to learn retail operations from the ground up. You will lead team members, deliver excellent customer service, and manage day-to-day store performance while you develop leadership skills for a future store manager role.

In this transitional program, you’ll gain hands-on experience in hiring, training, scheduling, inventory control, and merchandising. Full-time with benefits and opportunities for advancement—Let’s Go!

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Open availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• 2+ years of management or supervisory experience in retail or foodservice.
• Food Handlers Permit as required by local authorities.
• Proven history of exceptional customer service.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Basic computer and POS system proficiency.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Legal age to stock and sell regulated products.
• Strong attention to detail and self-motivated.
• A hands-on leader who leads by example and thrives in a team environment.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers with top-tier service.
• Lead and develop store staff through hiring, training, coaching, and scheduling.
• Monitor store financials, sales, and cash/inventory handling.
• Oversee product ordering, delivery reconciliation, and inventory levels.
• Drive sales through effective foodservice and merchandising management.
• Maintain store cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements (alcohol, tobacco, lottery, etc.).
• Participate in leadership meetings and hold effective team huddles.
• Uphold Jacksons standards, policies, and procedures.
• Additional responsibilities as assigned.

Shift: Full-time open availability required.

• Basic computer and POS system proficiency.
• Possess a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
• Legal age to stock and sell regulated products.
• Strong attention to detail and a history of being self-motivated.
• A hands-on leader who leads by example and thrives in a team environment.

This is a transitional position. Store Managers in Training are expected to move into a leadership role within the company after completing the training program.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, frequently required to stand, walk, bend, and twist; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch; and talk and listen.
• Must frequently lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 65 pounds.
• Work safely in work conditions that include heat, cold, allergen, noise, and fume/chemical/odor from gasoline and cleaning chemicals.
