Job description

As an Engineering Manager II at Datadog, you will own a significant portion of the Logs business—one of Datadog’s largest and most strategic products, with major growth opportunities still ahead. Sitting at the table where strategy is defined, you will drive execution across a ~30‑person engineering org at an exciting moment of product evolution where AI requires us to fundamentally rethink how we handle observability data to remain market leaders. This is a high‑scope role for someone energized by hard problems, eager to grow at the intersection of business strategy and engineering excellence, and driven to build a product that radically transforms how engineering teams around the world operate and resolve incidents.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture—the relationships that it builds, the creativity it brings to the table, and the collaboration of being together. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our employees can create a work‑life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:
  • Own the success of the Logs business for your scope—co‑define the Logs technical roadmap and product vision with Product, Design, and peer leadership.
  • Act as a key collaborator across Datadog, building strong partnerships with platform and infrastructure teams to ensure a highly reliable, scalable and performant product.
  • Invest in the next generation of engineering leaders—growing your managers, expanding their impact, and building a high‑performing engineering organization where people continuously develop and thrive.
  • Foster a culture of ambition and resilience—where people lean into hard problems, iterate rapidly, and hold themselves to a high collective standard.
  • Build an inclusive environment focused on fostering top‑tier talent, ensuring that diverse perspectives are leveraged to build the best possible solution.
  • Manage the complexity of a large organization—anticipating risks, resolving friction, and keeping teams focused on what matters to our customers.
Who You Are:
  • Results‑driven and decisive—you work hard to cut through ambiguity and consistently create the conditions for the people around you to do their best work.
  • A business owner at heart—you think in markets, customers, and revenue, and you bring Product, Design, and Engineering together around a shared vision.
  • Energized by hard problems and driven to keep growing—you seek out challenges, learn from them, and bring others along with your curiosity and forward‑thinking approach.
  • Passionate about developing people—you’ve grown leaders before, and you’re known for creating opportunities for others to step up and expand their impact.
  • Technically curious and continuously learning—you have the engineering foundation to earn trust, and the humility to keep deepening your understanding.
Benefits and Growth:
  • New hire stock equity (RSUs) and employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
  • Continuous professional development, product training, and career pathing.
  • In‑departmental mentor and buddy program for in‑house networking.
  • An inclusive company culture, ability to join our Community Guilds (Datadog employee resource groups).
  • Access to Inclusion Talks, our internal panel discussions.
  • Free, global mental health benefits for employees and dependents age 6+.
  • Competitive global benefits.

Benefits and Growth listed above may vary based on the country of your employment and the nature of your employment with Datadog.
