Job summary

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead IAM Engineering team with performance management, coaching, and workforce planning.
  • Develop and execute IAM Engineering roadmap aligned with cybersecurity and business goals.
  • Establish standards, procedures, and governance for IAM services.
  • Manage vendor relationships and technology roadmaps.
  • Partner with Information Security to implement identity-related security controls.
  • Ensure IAM platforms meet security standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and remediation of identity risks.

The Manager, Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineering leads the design, implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of the organization's IAM program and supporting technologies, providing oversight for engineers responsible for identity services, authentication, authorization, privileged access management, identity governance, directory services, and access lifecycle automation. This role ensures the security, availability, scalability, and operational excellence of IAM platforms while supporting cybersecurity objectives, regulatory requirements, and business initiatives. Working closely with Information Security, Infrastructure, Applications, Human Resources, Compliance, and business stakeholders, the Manager establishes technical standards, drives strategic IAM initiatives, oversees platform engineering activities, and ensures identity services align with organizational security policies and industry best practices.

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, cybersecurity, or related field.
Work Experience
  • 2 years of experience in leadership, engineering, customer service, cybersecurity, or related field.
  • 4 years information technology, cybersecurity, identity and access management, or related experience.

A combination of relevant education, professional certifications**, and directly related work experience may be considered in lieu of specific degree requirements where appropriate.

Relevant certifications may include, but are not limited to, CISSP, CISM, Microsoft Identity and Access Administrator, SailPoint certifications, BeyondTrust certifications, or other industry-recognized IAM and cybersecurity credentials.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Ability to lead, mentor, and develop highly technical engineering teams.
  • Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to influence stakeholders and drive cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management architecture and security principles.
  • Knowledge of modern authentication protocols and identity federation technologies.
  • Understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks including HIPAA, SOX, NIST, and HITRUST.
  • Experience designing highly available and secure IAM solutions.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to executive leadership and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a dynamic healthcare environment.
Job Duties

  • Ensure IAM platforms align with organizational security standards, Zero Trust principles, and regulatory requirements.
  • Support audits, risk assessments, and compliance initiatives.
  • Drive remediation of identity-related risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Lead IAM-related projects and initiatives.
  • Collaborate with application owners and infrastructure teams to integrate enterprise applications into IAM services.
