Job summary

Target seeks a Manager, Global Supply Planning Operations to lead cross-functional projects advancing GSP priorities. You will translate objectives into structured plans and mobilize teams across Planning & Inventory, Sourcing, Technology, and Data to deliver measurable outcomes.

You will manage governance, risks, and change, use data to drive decisions, and build scalable processes. This on-site role works four days a week at our Downtown MN campus, with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 4–7 years of experience in project/program management, supply chain, operations, business transformation, consulting, or related roles.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex, cross-functional projects from definition through implementation, including managing scope, milestones, risks, dependencies, and deliverables.
  • Strong ability to lead project teams and drive outcomes without formal authority, including navigating competing priorities and creating alignment across stakeholders.
  • Experience establishing project governance, facilitating working teams, managing action and decision logs, and communicating progress to leadership.
  • Strong problem-solving and systems-thinking skills, with the ability to bring structure to ambiguous or complex business challenges.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate strategy and business needs into executable plans and sustainable operating processes.
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations and leadership-level updates.
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with data to identify opportunities, evaluate performance, and measure outcomes.
  • Experience with reporting, BI platforms, planning systems, SQL, data lakes, or similar analytical tools is beneficial; deep technical expertise is not required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross-functional projects and workstreams from definition through implementation.
  • Translate business objectives into clear scope, deliverables, milestones, workplans, ownership, and success measures.
  • Mobilize and lead project teams across GSP, Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, Technology, Data, and other partner organizations.
  • Establish clear roles and working norms, facilitate productive discussions, and align teams around common outcomes.
  • Establish effective project governance, including working-team routines, leadership updates, decision forums, action tracking, and escalation paths.
  • Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and changes in scope.
  • Build strong relationships with business partners and leaders across functions and geographies.
  • Develop clear project communications, executive updates, recommendations, and decision materials.
  • Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize GSP processes and ways of working.
  • Lead development and implementation of scalable processes, operating routines, SOPs, playbooks, and governance mechanisms that improve execution.
  • Partner with stakeholders to move solutions from design into execution, including readiness plans and adoption mechanisms.
  • Structure ambiguous business problems, evaluate alternatives, and facilitate decisions with data-driven recommendations.
  • Use data and analytics to inform project priorities, establish baselines, and measure outcomes.
  • Identify recurring pain points and lead sustainable improvements that increase effectiveness.

The pay range is $73,000.00 - $132,000.00 Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and in some instances may include education, work experience and certifications. About the Role

As a Manager, Global Supply Planning Operations, you will lead cross-functional projects and initiatives that advance GSP’s strategic and operational priorities. You will be responsible for translating business objectives into structured project plans, mobilizing cross-functional teams, driving execution, managing risks and dependencies, and ensuring initiatives deliver measurable outcomes. You will serve as a project leader and integrator, bringing together partners across Global Supply Planning, Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, Technology, and other teams to solve complex operational challenges. You will establish clear scope, milestones, roles, governance, and decision-making mechanisms while creating visibility to progress and escalating issues when needed. The role combines project leadership with process improvement and analytical problem solving. You will use data and reporting to identify opportunities, measure outcomes, and support decisions, while also helping strengthen GSP's operating routines, processes, and tools. You will lead multiple workstreams and initiatives simultaneously and influence teams without formal authority.

Core Responsibilities

Project & Program Management: Lead cross-functional projects and workstreams from definition through implementation. Translate business objectives into clear scope, deliverables, milestones, workplans, ownership, and success measures. Maintain momentum and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.

Cross-Functional Team Leadership: Mobilize and lead project teams across GSP, Planning & Inventory Management, Sourcing, Technology, Data, and other partner organizations. Establish clear roles and working norms, facilitate productive discussions, and align teams around common outcomes.

Project Governance & Execution: Establish effective project governance, including working-team routines, leadership updates, decision forums, action tracking, and escalation paths. Proactively manage risks, issues, dependencies, decisions, and changes in scope.

Stakeholder Management & Communication: Build strong relationships with business partners and leaders across functions and geographies. Develop clear project communications, executive updates, recommendations, and decision materials. Influence without formal authority and navigate differing priorities to drive alignment.

Process & Operating Model Improvement: Identify opportunities to simplify and standardize GSP processes and ways of working. Lead development and implementation of scalable processes, operating routines, SOPs, playbooks, and governance mechanisms that improve execution across the organization.

Change & Implementation: Partner with stakeholders to move solutions from design into execution. Develop implementation approaches, readiness plans, communications, documentation, and adoption mechanisms to ensure changes are successfully embedded into day-to-day operations.

Problem Solving & Decision Support: Structure ambiguous business problems, identify root causes, evaluate alternatives, and facilitate decisions. Bring together business context, stakeholder perspectives, and quantitative insights to develop practical recommendations.

Data & Analytics: Use data and analytics to inform project priorities, evaluate opportunities, establish baselines, and measure business outcomes. Partner with analytics and technology teams to define reporting and measurement requirements and ensure appropriate visibility to performance.

Continuous Improvement: Identify recurring operational pain points and lead sustainable solutions that reduce manual effort, clarify ownership, improve execution, and increase organizational effectiveness.

The role is performed on -site in office 4 days per week from our Downtown MN campus.

About you
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
