Northrop Grumman is seeking a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 for its Elkton, Maryland facility. You will lead direct and coordination of mixing and casting operations, while ensuring safety and quality objectives are met.

At the same time, you will plan production schedules, manage materials, and drive continuous improvement through KPIs, with strong communication to teams and leadership.

Northrop Grumman is in need of a Manufacturing Operations Manager 2 to join our Manufacturing and Infrastructure Team at its Elkton, Maryland facility.

Northrop Grumman Propulsion Systems and Controls (PS&C) facility in Elkton, Maryland began solid-propellant rocket operations in 1948. Today, the Elkton PS&C facility designs, develops, and produces solid-propellant propulsion and ordnance systems in programs professionally managed for a wide variety of Government and commercial customers. The facility also serves as the hub for offsite engineering and test facilities in Ronkonkoma, NY and Palm Beach Gardens, FL.

Elkton, Maryland is located on the Upper Chesapeake Bay, midway between Philadelphia and Baltimore. What You’ll get to do:

• Direct and coordinate energetic mixing and casting operations while maintaining a strict adherence to safety and quality objectives.
• Direct and coordinate activities to plan, manage, and control production schedules, in conjunction with Material Requirements Planning, to meet production/delivery requirements
• Oversee the status of work in process, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are available, as needed
• Maintains ownership of key performance indicators (KPIs) that drive process control, continuous improvement, and operational efficiency.
• Provides specific direction and training to employees to ensure operational success.

Basic Qualifications:

• Must have 12 year of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment.
• Will also consider those with a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment and those with a Master's degree with 6 years of experience working in a Manufacturing and/or Production Environment.
• Excellent verbal communication skills with Technician staff, Manufacturing support personnel, Functional management, Program management and related groups.
• Support customer proposal by providing basis of estimates (BOE) for labor and schedule durations.
• Ensuring compliance to all Northrop Grumman policies and procedures as applicable for manufacturing environments.
• Ensure that equipment and machinery are maintained in accordance with preventative maintenance schedules for each assigned area.
• The ability to obtain a U.S. Secret Level Security Clearance is required, US citizenship is a pre-requisite.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience presenting to executive staff / leadership.
• Experience with Lean/5S in manufacturing environments.
• Active U.S. Secret Security Level Clearance.
• Experience in a Production Control environment.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with Solumina.

Primary Level Salary Range: $115,600.00 - $173,400.00 The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
