Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems in Palmdale, CA, seeks a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to lead the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) team, directing maintenance, tooling, and processes to achieve operational excellence. You will mentor staff, plan workloads, and drive continuous improvement across a diverse project portfolio.

The role requires a US Secret Clearance, 5 years of related experience (or a BS with 1 year) and 1 year of leadership.

• Must have a High School Diploma / G.E.D. and 5 years of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling/production.
• Must have an active U.S Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
• Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.
• Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 5 years of Aircraft Manufacturing experience

• Leads the GSE/Tooling team in executing best practices following PrOP documents, T.O’s and owner manuals.
• Providing direction and mentorship to the Ground Support Equipment (GSE) mechanics, machine shop and tooling personnel in the GSE/ Tooling area.
• Ensures team members receive the required training and prepares the daily work orders in support of overall maintenance of equipment.
• Encourages and provides direction for career development of employees, including educational options for highly motivated employees.
• Provides leadership/direction to ensure all affordability initiatives and opportunities for process improvements are systematically identified, pursued, and supported.
• Ensure proper planning of work scheduled for the machine shop, setting priorities.

Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for a Manager General Manufacturing 1 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our GSE organization. This leadership role is located in Palmdale, CA.

The Manager General Manufacturing 1 will have the responsibility, authority, and accountability for leading the manufacturing activities within our Ground Support Equipment organization, which will include the following responsibilities:

Basic Qualifications

• Must have a High School Diploma / G.E.D. and 5 years of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling/production OR Bachelors' Degree and 1year of related professional/military experience in general manufacturing and/or tooling/production




• Must have an active U.S Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access




• Must have 1 year of prior management/leadership experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree and a minimum of 5 years of Aircraft Manufacturing experience




• Previous Leadership, Supervisory or Management experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
