Job summary

The Valley Health System seeks a Manager of Risk Management to join its leadership team at Summerlin Hospital in Las Vegas. You will assist the Director of Risk Management in leading the hospital’s Patient Safety-Risk Management Program and drive risk reduction initiatives across clinical services.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field and 1–3 years of clinical or risk management experience; CPHRM is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in related field required.
• One to Three years' clinical experience or Risk Management experience required; acute care experience preferred.
• Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.
• Knowledge of Joint Commission Standards, Centers for Medicare Participation, Nevada acute care regulations, and Nevada Department of Public Health functions.

Responsibilities

• The Manager of Risk Management supports the Director of Risk Management in leading the hospital’s Patient Safety-Risk Management Program.
• Provides leadership and guidance as part of the hospital’s leadership team.
• Ensures compliance with applicable standards and supports risk reduction initiatives.

Summerlin Hospital is a 496-bed hospital featuring emergency services; a busy maternity department with an average of 450 deliveries per month; a Children's Medical Center with a NICU, a pediatric ICU and separate pediatric ER; advanced cardiovascular care, surgical services, women's health and oncology care. Job Description

The Manager of Risk Management is a key member of the leadership team and will be responsible for assisting the Director of Risk Management in leading our hospital’s Patient Safety-Risk Management Program.

Job Requirements

Education

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited College or University in related field required.

Experience

One (1) to Three (3) years' clinical experience or Risk Management experience required. Acute care experience preferred.

License/Certification

Certified Professional in healthcare Risk Management (CPHRM) preferred.

Technical Skills

Computer proficiency to include at a minimum Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook, and hospital software programs, as applicable.

Other

Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service appropriate to the age of the patient. Knowledge of the Joint Commission Standards, Centers of Medicare Conditions of Participation, Nevada acute care regulations, and the functions of the Nevada Department of Public Health.
