Job summary

AAR Corp is seeking a Manager, Maintenance Control to act as the central airworthiness authority for Flight School Next. You will oversee real-time maintenance control, continuing airworthiness, and readiness across aircraft, GSE, and related assets, while managing Part 145 activity and ensuring FAA compliance.

You will drive compliance, audits, contingency planning, and process improvements to maximize fleet availability in alignment with FARs and company policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Aircraft Maintenance or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Ten (10) years minimum aircraft maintenance experience.
  • Current FAA Airframe and Power Plant (A&P) License.
  • CMF 15 aviation MOS series or other military/commercial equivalent.
  • In-depth working knowledge of military, commercial, and FAA technical publications.
  • An FAA Inspector Authorization (IA) license is preferred.
  • US citizenship is required to access the Fort Rucker site.

Responsibilities

  • Understand, facilitate and implement maintenance standards and objectives with all assets to achieve metrics and standards for FSN.
  • Establish maintenance policies and procedures to ensure safe operation of the aircraft and meet mission-capable rates.
  • Establish and monitor scheduling; implement quality control; enforce directives, SOPs and procedures.
  • Develop procedures to ensure timely recording of maintenance actions.
  • Functionally responsible to the Director of Maintenance for policies and procedures.
  • Support in executing maintenance hiring actions and training plans.
  • Coordinate site activities with all departments to ensure smooth operations and aircraft maintenance.
  • Determine standardized procedures and work schedules to improve efficiency of subordinates.
  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with policies and laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Job description

This position is pending contract award. The estimated start date is October 1, 2026.

Description: As the Manager, Maintenance Control, you serve as the centralized airworthiness authority for Flight School Next, overseeing real-time maintenance control, continuing airworthiness, and operational readiness across all aircraft, ground support equipment (GSE), fuel‑handling equipment, and aviation‑related assets. You manage contracted Part 145 activity, fleet configuration, digital maintenance workflows, and technical record integrity through the maintenance tracking systems. The role approves high‑level deferrals, coordinates aircraft routing and inventory planning, maintains company‑approved maintenance programs, and ensures clear, consistent communication across operational departments. You also drive compliance, internal audits, contingency planning, and process improvements to maximize fleet availability while ensuring full adherence to FARs, company policy, and AAR safety standards.

What you will be responsible for:

  • Functionally responsible to the Director of Maintenance for aircraft maintenance related issues, policies, and procedures.
