About the Role
Reporting to the Director, Franchise Performance (DFP), the Manager Franchise Performance (MFP) oversees the operations and growth of multiple franchise locations within a defined territory. The MFP manages franchise relationships, communicates the strategic direction, and partners with franchisees to drive restaurant performance and profitability across the portfolio. This role ensures adherence to Subway operations requirements and brand standards, communicates expected performance levels relative to KPIs and metrics, and supports franchisees in meeting operational and financial goals. The MFP analyzes data, monitors KPIs, and may develop training programs, conduct performance evaluations, and collaborate with other departments to drive growth. The MFP also works with the DFP to identify consolidation or expansion opportunities within the market.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Drive Performance
- Foster and maintain positive relationships with franchisees; act as a business consultant and advisor on operations, finances, and business execution. Conduct regular assessments to uncover growth potential and opportunities.
- Review restaurant operating reports and audits; analyze data and collaborate with franchisees to determine solutions. Assess performance against policies and procedures, and provide tailored guidance on improvement.
- Drive accountability to achieve restaurant and territory objectives. Set goals with franchisees based on KPIs, programs, and standards to promote profitable sales, customer traffic, and increased average check size.
- Provide guidance on operational and food safety during monthly visits within the territory; document compliance, identify opportunities, and offer recommendations for improvement after each visit.
Building Relationships
- Provide direction and guidance to franchisees on restaurant operations, new products, programs, and openings. Ensure initiatives, including product launches, technology advancements, process improvements, marketing campaigns, and upgrades, are executed to drive sales growth.
- Coach and motivate franchisees at the portfolio level; build productive relationships with franchisees, territory teams, and Subway employees through in-person and virtual interactions, meetings, and trainings.
- Support franchisees in driving employee engagement and guest experience to increase traffic and loyalty.
Development
- Assist the DFP and cross-functional teams with the development of new restaurants, ownership transfers, and remodels within the territory. Coordinate with Development to confirm readiness to open and document progress with photos as needed.
- Share information with the DFP and MUO teams about existing owners and growth potential; provide guidance and training during ownership transitions.
- Attend company and industry events to stay informed about trends.
Self-Development
- Engage in designated training programs to enhance knowledge and skills. Participate in scheduled training and sessions (e.g., University of Subway, Cascade Training, Monthly Business Reviews) and travel occasionally for training as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5+ years in a multi-unit management role.
- Certificate programs in Franchise Management, Food Safety, Food Handling, Hospitality, or related areas are a plus.
- 5+ years of experience in Franchise Management with a track record of driving growth and profitability.
- 3+ years of restaurant experience preferred.
- Strong goal-setting, multi-tasking, and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently and as part of a team; effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
- Financial analysis, data interpretation, and attention to detail;熟悉 with regulatory compliance; proficient in Microsoft Office, Smart Sheets, and CRM software (FranConnect).
- Willingness to travel regionally; flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and reliable personal transportation.
