Job summary

AV in Herndon, VA seeks a Manager – Financial Analysis and Reporting to lead financial planning and analysis for Directed Energy programs, delivering strategic insights and aligning execution with objectives.

You will mentor junior analysts, partner with Program Managers, Contracts, Engineering and Operations, and lead month-end close and reporting while managing headcount and spend within budgets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field or 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in program finance, financial analysis, or related finance roles.
• Experience managing a team of employees.
• Experience with ERP and EPM systems; Hyperion, Oracle preferred.
• Advanced MS Excel required.
• Experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing or government contracting environments is a plus.

• Prepare monthly financial analysis, budgets, and forecasts.
• Perform financial analysis, research, budgets and forecasts in support of business planning.
• Review, analyze, and interpret financial and budgetary reports to develop observations and preliminary recommendations.
• Serve as a finance business partner to Program Managers, Contracts, Engineering, and Operations to ensure alignment with goals.
• Prepare and communicate variances to management.
• Provide interpretation of financial data in spreadsheets, charts, and reports.
• Monitor headcount, FTEs, and spending to ensure budgets are met.

• Mentor and guide junior analysts to foster a high-performance team.
• Conduct special projects, financial presentations, and analyses.

We are seeking an experienced Manager – Financial Analysis and Reporting to join our Finance team supporting Directed Energy programs. This role will lead financial planning and analysis efforts, providing strategic insight, driving financial performance, and ensuring alignment between program execution and organizational objectives. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical foundation, leadership capability, and the ability to influence cross‑functional stakeholders at all levels.

Position Responsibilities

• Reviews, analyzes, and interprets financial and budgetary reports to develop observations and preliminary recommendations.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field OR 4 years additional experience in lieu of degree.
• 5–7 years of progressive experience in program finance, financial analysis, or related finance roles.
• Experience managing a team of employees.
• Experience with ERP and EPM systems; Hyperion, Oracle preferred
• Current expertise in MS Office Suite (Advanced MS Excel preferred)
• Experience in defense, aerospace, manufacturing or government contracting environments is a plus.

The Salary Range For This Role Is

$106,500 - $162,500
