Job Overview

The Manager supports Convergent’s capital raising efforts and financial operations, including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing, non‑recourse project financing, tax equity, and valuation analysis for our rapidly growing portfolio of assets. The role is responsible for financial modeling, maintaining valuation methodologies, and coordinating deal execution from evaluation to financial close, ensuring optimal financing solutions and streamlined processes.

Responsibilities
  • Capitalize on capital raising activities including HoldCo/Mezzanine financing and non‑recourse project financing such as debt, leases, and tax equity for renewable energy battery storage and other energy‑related technology development projects.
  • Assist or serve as the deal captain to coordinate internal and external tax, accounting, and legal teams for transaction structures, particularly for tax‑incentivized financing and debt financings.
  • Facilitate the deal‑closing process, coordinating reviews and approvals to bring transactions to financial close within tight timeframes.
  • Review and evaluate financial analysis and valuation models for contracts, tariffs, and financing options, ensuring accuracy and robustness.
  • Develop and maintain robust valuation methodologies at both project and portfolio levels.
  • Partner with accounting, tax, and other internal teams to implement hedging and risk‑management strategies for currency, rates, and commodity risks.
  • Provide strategic recommendations to senior leadership to optimize financing structures and portfolio growth.
  • Act as a liaison between internal teams (development, project execution, procurement, legal, tax, accounting, asset management) and external stakeholders to align transaction goals and mitigate risks.
  • Exercise informal mentorship of junior employees while serving as an individual contributor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics, computer science, engineering, or related discipline.
  • 4–6 years of experience in a similar capital‑raising or financial operations role.
  • Proven collaboration with diverse internal teams and external consultants to deliver structured financing solutions.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to present concise information to senior management and third parties.
  • Ability to prepare and present financing marketing materials, including teasers, CIMs, and internal committee memos.
  • Experience in a fast‑paced, entrepreneurial environment, handling high‑pressure, time‑sensitive deadlines.
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to build and maintain complex financial models.
  • Proficient with PowerPoint and the creation of presentations.
  • Intellectual curiosity and rapid learning ability.
  • Strong multi‑tasking capability.
  • Alignment with Convergent’s mission and values: Continuous Improvement, Diversity Equity and Inclusion, Ethical Governance, Safety, Sustainability, Collaboration, Ownership, Resilience, and a strong interest in the Clean Energy Transition.
  • 10% travel expected for site visits, conferences, and meetings with financing counterparties.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate financial jargon into clear explanations for other departments.
  • Experience mentoring junior employees.
