Job summary

Armanino LLP is seeking a seasoned professional for its CFO Advisory Services practice in a role that blends financial planning, technical accounting, and client leadership. You will forecast, budget, and prepare pro-forma information while ensuring US GAAP/SEC compliance and high-quality external reporting.

You will guide policy design, close improvements, and audit readiness while managing client projects and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or another business-related field.
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with at least 2 years in a public accounting firm and operational accounting.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP (IFRS exposure a plus) with experience in technical accounting or SEC reporting.
• Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.

Responsibilities

• Perform financial planning and analysis including forecasting, budgeting, and pro-forma prep.
• Provide technical expertise for US GAAP/SEC requirements including accounting research, documentation, and client presentations.
• Prepare external financial reports for clients, auditors, or the SEC (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxies).
• Assist in designing and implementing new accounting policies and procedures.
• Improve close process and monthly/quarterly reporting timelines.
• Liaise with external auditors and internal decision makers for audit prep.
• Lead financial transactions, balance sheet prep, and purchase accounting.
• Manage projects and coordinate with clients.
• Foster relationships with clients and cross-functional teams.
• Travel up to 25% (Bay Area travel may be required).

Job Responsibilities

• Financial Planning and Analysis, including forecasting, budgeting, and preparation of pro-forma financial information
• Provide technical expertise for US GAAP and SEC requirements including accounting research, documentation, and presentation to clients
• Prepare accurate external financial reports to client, auditors, or the SEC, including the preparation, review, submission, and distribution of periodic financial reports, such as 10-K, 10-Q, 8K’s and proxy statements
• Assist in the in the design and implementation of new accounting policies and procedures
• Assess and improve financial accounting close process, including accelerating and streamlining monthly and quarterly reporting processes
• Liaison on behalf of the client with external auditors and internal decision makers to assist with Audit preparation
• Assist with Cash to Accrual Accounting after a transaction, Opening Balance Sheet preparation and Purchase Accounting
• Lead and manage projects while coordinating directly with clients
• Foster proactive working relationships with clients and cross-functional departments
• Supervise and mentor staff or make timely and effective performance feedback and training
• Travel – up to 25%. Note: for candidates in the Bay Area there will be out of area travel based on client needs

Requirements

• BS degree in Accounting, Finance, or another Business-related field (or equivalent work experience)
• Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with a minimum of 2 experience in a public accounting firm and operational accounting role
• A strong and up-to date knowledge of US GAAP (exposure to IFRS is a plus), with deep technical understanding of topics such as ASC 606 revenue recognition, lease transactions, purchase accounting, etc. and experience within the technical accounting or SEC reporting team of a company
• Flexibility to work from home while collaborating in person half the time.

Certain states require us to disclose the pay range and benefits summary for job openings. For Colorado residents, the compensation range for this position: $120,000-$150,000. For Washington residents and Southern California residents the compensation range for this position: $125,000-$155,000. For Northern California residents, the compensation range for this position: $135,000-$162,000. Compensation may vary based on skills, role, and location.
