Pattern Energy is seeking a Manager in Capital Investments and Analytics to drive financial analysis, capital raising, and strategic transactions across renewable energy projects including wind, solar, battery storage, and transmission. The role may lead day-to-day activities or support a Director-level lead.

You will oversee junior staff, collaborate with development, asset management, legal, and finance teams, and contribute to the effective operation of the Capital Investments and Analytics

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering; MBA or CFA preferred but not required
  • 5–8 years of project finance analytical/modeling experience in a financial firm or energy operating company
  • Experience supporting or leading project finance, capital raising, M&A, or other complex transactions
  • Experience evaluating wind, solar, battery storage, and/or transmission projects
  • Advanced financial-modeling and analytical capabilities in project finance and valuation
  • Ability to review complex analyses and communicate conclusions clearly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and stakeholder collaboration skills
  • Experience mentoring junior professionals is preferred

Job description

Overview

In this cross-functional role spanning project development, investment analysis, project finance, valuation, and transaction execution, the Manager will directly support Pattern Energy’s growth and its mission to transition the world to renewable energy. The position is responsible for leading financial analysis and supporting the execution of capital raising, M&A, and other strategic transactions. Depending on the scope and complexity of a transaction, the Manager may serve as the day-to-day transaction lead or support a senior transaction lead at the Director level or above. The Manager will also oversee junior team members, manage direct reports, and contribute to the effective operation and continued development of the Capital Investments and Analytics team.

The role collaborates extensively with cross-functional partners, including development, construction, offtake origination, asset management, legal, corporate finance, tax, and other internal stakeholders, as well as external investors, lenders, advisors, and consultants.

Responsibilities

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Lead the development, review, and interpretation of financial models and investment analyses for renewable energy and transmission projects
  • Develop and deliver high-quality investment presentations, decision materials, transaction briefs, and other materials for internal and external stakeholders
  • Lead or coordinate investor, lender, and counterparty due diligence processes
  • Manage third-party consultants and oversee the preparation and review of consultant reports
  • Coordinate internal project teams, build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and serve as a primary point of contact within assigned areas of responsibility
  • Support the negotiation and execution of transaction documentation
  • Oversee and delegate work to junior team members, including providing direction, reviewing work products, and ensuring adherence to applicable QA/QC standards
  • Manage competing priorities across multiple transactions and workstreams while maintaining appropriate quality, responsiveness, and stakeholder communication
  • Serve as an internal financial-modeling expert, including troubleshooting complex technical issues and advising colleagues on analytical approach
  • Identify, develop, and implement improvements to internal processes, analytical tools, quality-control standards, and cross-functional workflows
  • Manage and develop direct reports through ongoing coaching, feedback, performance management, and career-development support
Qualifications

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field; an MBA, other relevant advanced degree, or CFA designation is preferred but not required
  • 5-8 years of project finance analytical/modeling experience within a financial firm or energy operating company
  • Demonstrated experience supporting or leading project finance, capital raising, M&A, or other complex transactions, including ownership of major workstreams and delegation to junior team members
  • Experience evaluating wind, solar, battery storage, and/or transmission projects
  • Advanced financial-modeling and analytical capabilities, including a strong understanding of project finance, valuation, and relevant financial and mathematical concepts
  • Demonstrated ability to review complex analyses, identify errors or inconsistencies, and communicate conclusions and recommendations clearly
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to synthesize complex information for senior management and external stakeholders
  • Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships across functions and with external counterparties, advisors, and consultants
  • Demonstrated ability to lead through influence, exercise sound judgment, and work effectively both independently and within collaborative teams
  • Strong organizational and project-management skills, including the ability to prioritize and deliver high-quality work across multiple concurrent assignments and tight timelines
  • Prior experience managing, mentoring, or developing junior professionals is preferred

The expected starting pay range for this role is $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 USD. This range is an estimate and base pay may be above or below the ranges based on several factors including but not limited to location, work experience, certifications, and education. In addition to base pay, Pattern’s compensation program includes a bonus structure for full-time employees of all levels.
