Job description

POSITION TITLE: Manager, Finance (M2)

For more than three decades, Crown Castle has led the way in shared communications infrastructure, delivering profitable solutions by connecting communities, businesses, and people, and enabling each to thrive with reliable access to voice and data in more places, faster than ever before. When you join Crown Castle, you become part of a dynamic team of passionate and collaborative professionals engaging in complex challenges and contributing to projects that shape the future of life and work.

About The Role

The Manager, Finance will be responsible for managing critical finance processes, developing extensive financial models, and translating complex customer agreement economics into concise, executive-level business narratives. This role requires ownership of high-impact analytical workstreams, process discipline, cross-functional coordination, and polished presentation materials that support Crown Castle’s Commercial team.

The successful candidate will combine strong finance and accounting acumen with advanced financial modeling, presentation development, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to communicate the financial, operational, and strategic drivers of complex agreements into simple narratives. This person should be comfortable working independently, gathering assumptions across stakeholder groups, reconciling data from multiple sources, identifying key risks and opportunities, and producing decision-ready analysis under tight timelines.

What You Will Do
  • Build, maintain, and enhance complex financial models supporting strategic commercial activities, including scenario analysis, sensitivity analysis, cash flow timing, revenue impacts, expense assumptions, contract economics, and enterprise financial implications.
  • Translate detailed financial modeling outputs into concise, compelling presentations that tell the business story, highlight key assumptions, summarize risks and opportunities, and clearly communicate the financial and commercial takeaways for executive leadership.
  • Own process management for assigned analytical workstreams, including intake of business questions, development of modeling approaches, coordination of inputs, timeline management, version control, quality review, and delivery of final analysis.
  • Partner with Commercial, Legal, Operations, Accounting, Business Intelligence, and Finance stakeholders to gather assumptions, validate contract terms, reconcile financial inputs, and ensure analysis reflects the best available data.
  • Analyze customer agreement structures to assess revenue, expense, margin, timing, billing, and operational implications, with a focus on clear decision support and disciplined process execution.
  • Develop and maintain customer pricing models, inclusive of comparing proposed pricing to historical pricing, contracted terms, cost-to-serve assumptions, volume commitments, escalation mechanics, and profitability objectives.
  • Support pricing governance and controls by identifying pricing inconsistencies, documenting assumptions, evaluating margin impacts, and recommending fact-based pricing guidance that balances competitiveness, profitability, and revenue integrity.
  • Support revenue assurance efforts by reviewing contract terms, billing outputs, customer activity, pricing conditions, and operational handoffs to help ensure the company captures all revenue due under negotiated agreements.
  • Investigate potential revenue leakage, billing discrepancies, missed escalators, customer-specific terms, or process gaps; quantify financial exposure and partner with stakeholders to drive resolution.
  • Prepare recurring and ad hoc analysis related to customer agreement performance, run-rate revenue, forecast impacts, and pricing outcomes.
  • Reconcile and summarize data from multiple financial, operational, contract, and reporting sources; identify data quality issues and recommend process improvements to improve accuracy, repeatability, and confidence in outputs.
  • Serve as a finance subject matter expert for assigned processes, providing guidance on modeling methodology, accounting considerations, financial impacts, reporting needs, and analytical best practices.
  • Drive continuous improvement by simplifying manual processes, standardizing templates, improving documentation, and strengthening controls around modeling and pricing.
  • Balance accuracy, speed, and business judgment to deliver high-quality analysis and presentation materials within compressed timelines.
What You Will Need To Succeed
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in finance, accounting, FP&A, commercial finance, revenue analysis, pricing, or financial planning roles.
  • Advanced Excel skills with demonstrated experience building detailed financial models, scenario analyses, sensitivity tables, and executive-ready outputs.
  • Advanced PowerPoint skills with the ability to create polished presentations that simplify complex analysis and communicate a clear storyline.
  • Strong understanding of financial and accounting concepts, including revenue recognition considerations, expense classification, margin analysis, forecasting, variance analysis, and cash flow timing.
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret contract terms, operational data, billing details, and financial results to identify key drivers, risks, and opportunities.
  • Experience supporting customer pricing, contract economics, or commercial finance.
  • Experience developing standardized financial models, process documentation, executive presentation templates, and recurring management reporting.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder partnership skills, including the ability to influence without direct authority and collaborate across functions.
Preferred Qualifications
  • MBA, CFA, CPA, or other advanced coursework and certifications in finance, accounting, analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with major ERP, contract management, business intelligence, planning, or reporting systems.
