This new function will provide management with robust reporting and actionable insights to allow Marketing to maximize and optimize its budgeted spend in support of content promotion. The DET Marketing Finance COE will manage all content marketing and publicity investments consisting of hundreds of titles across multiple unique brands.

This Manager will have a wide-range of responsibilities, including brand finance
support for FX and Hulu Originals, COE finance support for Creative/Production and Paid Media functional COEs, as well as ownership of labor and overhead financial planning for assigned Marketing organizations.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, this position will support both the brand and functional COE Marketing leaders, and the consolidation of forecast and budget submissions for both the Linear Networks and DTC P&Ls.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned brands (FX and Hulu Originals) and Marketing COE functions (Creative & Production, Paid Media), including consolidation of Content Marketing spend across all DET brands for both Linear and DTC P&Ls.
  • Partner closely with Marketing, Controllership, and Business Management teams to ensure alignment between budgets, forecasts, and actual spend at the title and functional level, enabling effective budget management and optimization of marketing investments.
  • Provide Marketing Finance COE leadership with forecast reporting, financial insights, and actionable analysis, including identification of risks, opportunities, key trade-offs, and strategic considerations.
  • Support the development and standardization of financial processes, reporting frameworks, templates, and stakeholder engagement models across brands and Marketing COE functions to improve budget management, forecasting accuracy, and financial transparency.
  • Serve as the primary Finance point of contact for assigned brands and functional areas, partnering with DTC and Unified marketing finance teams to provide a consolidated DET financial perspective for leadership.
  • Deliver ongoing title-level and functional spend tracking, reporting, and variance analysis, highlighting key business drivers and financial impacts.
  • Establish and maintain standardized datasets, reporting tools, and governance practices across agencies and brands to support consistent financial planning and reporting.
  • Own the end-to-end labor and overhead planning process for assigned Marketing organizations, including annual budgets, quarterly forecasts, monthly close support, and long-range planning.
  • Partner with Marketing leadership, HR, Business Management, and Controllership to deliver labor & overhead reporting, variance analysis, and actionable recommendations that optimize resource allocation while ensuring alignment with financial commitments and organizational priorities.
  • Support senior leadership with ad hoc financial analyses, strategic planning initiatives, and special projects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field required; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
  • 5+ years of progressive finance experience, preferably within the television, media, or entertainment industry, with a strong understanding of marketing finance, FP&A processes, budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to balance strategic thinking with execution.
  • Proven ability to build partnerships, influence stakeholders, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented with a strong work ethic, capable of managing multiple priorities, meeting deadlines, and driving deliverables in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and a continuous learning mindset, with enthusiasm for leveraging new technologies, tools, and processes to improve efficiency and decision-making.
  • Prior experience leading other more junior level finance employees with an aptitude and passion for mentoring, developing talent, and fostering collaboration across teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and financial modeling; experience with SAP, M360, and other financial planning and reporting systems is preferred.

The hiring range for this position in California is $126,800.00-$154,800.00 per year.
