Job summary

Sysco Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee the upkeep of all power equipment in the warehouse and comprehensive building maintenance. The role focuses on audit readiness, safety, and cost-effective operations.

You will lead maintenance staff, coordinate with Safety, and drive improvements in equipment reliability and facility operations. A strong background in refrigeration, plumbing, and building systems is essential.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED is required.
  • Three years of on-the-job maintenance management experience.
  • Level 2 Ammonia Operation Certification is required.
  • HAZWOPER 24-hour training is required.
  • Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration are required.

Responsibilities

  • Manages daily work and safety of associates across building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration, and power equipment.
  • Ensures facility is audit-ready at all times.
  • Hires, coaches, and develops maintenance staff; maintains morale and engagement.
  • Trains and enforces company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates with Safety to train, inspect, and investigate incidents.
  • Evaluates disciplinary actions and behavior modification as needed.
  • Manages asset selection, purchasing, utilization, and inventory for facilities and equipment.
  • Suggests efficiency ideas and cost-reduction measures and implements changes.
  • Oversees department projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Uses maintenance tracking software for task management.
  • Ensures all power equipment is safe and operational.

Job description

Position Purpose

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for maintaining all power equipment in the warehouse and all building maintenance in a cost-effective manner. He/She ensures components such as refrigeration, plumbing, and structure are continuously audit-ready.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Manages the daily work and safety of associates engaged in building, grounds, sanitation, refrigeration systems, beverage department, power industrial equipment, and security.
  • Ensures the facility is continuously audit ready.
  • Hires, reviews, coaches, and develops the maintenance staff; maintains associate relations through regular meetings, maintains ongoing interaction, answers questions, explains policies and procedures, monitors morale, and submits ideas to improve engagement.
  • Interprets, trains, and consistently enforces company policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates efforts with the Safety department to aid in training, conduct observations, update work methods, investigate accidents, determine root causes, and perform routine inspections.
  • Makes recommendations for disciplinary action and/or behavior modification where required.
  • Manages the proper selection, purchase, utilization and inventory of company assets for the facilities, beverage, and power equipment departments, coordinating with others to ensure efficient maintenance.
  • Suggests efficiency ideas, cost reduction measures, and assists in implementing changes within facility maintenance and related departments.
  • Manages, assigns and monitors all department projects for quality and timely completion.
  • Utilizes maintenance tracking software for task management.
  • Ensures all power equipment is safe and operational.
Education and Qualifications
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Three years of on-the-job maintenance management experience.
  • Level 2 Ammonia Operation Certification required.
  • HAZWOPER 24‑hour training required.
  • Certificate, licenses and registrations in refrigeration required.
Skills
  • Understanding of general building maintenance, refrigeration, plumbing, processing equipment welding, and audit preparation.
  • Ability to train personnel on operating pallet jacks, forklifts, scissor lifts, and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ability to hire personnel.
