Job summary

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor based in Southern California, is seeking a Facilities Engineer / Maintenance Manager to lead the maintenance and reliability of the facility, equipment, and systems supporting aerospace and defense programs. You will guide preventative maintenance plans, budget activities, and cross‑functional collaboration with production teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of equipment service and repair practices for CNCs/mazak/haas/okuma; Fanuc robots and drives; Allen Bradley PLCs and control systems.
  • Strong knowledge of building equipment service and repair practices for HVAC, fire, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple groups and break plans into executable tasks.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and TPM; Lean certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-years of experience in a maintenance management role in manufacturing/contracting/engineering.
  • Knowledge of supporting manufacturing disciplines including safety processes, machining, welding, assembly, document control, and quality inspections.
  • Knowledge of ACAD, MS Project, SAP or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and execute maintenance plans and preventive/predictive programs.
  • Drive maintenance team to achieve world-class uptime and utilization of production equipment.
  • Administer maintenance planning program compliant with policies and directives.
  • Assist in planning and executing strategic development plans for the facility.
  • Interface with internal groups and provide strong customer service as a facilities leader.
  • Perform/self-inspections of facility systems and programs.
  • Prepare budgets, RFQs, policy and procedures for maintenance.
  • Maintain maintenance records using the work order system.
  • Prepare assessments informing executive management to correct deficiencies.

The Marvin Group, a leading defense contractor, plays a crucial role in the development and manufacturing of various systems for military aerospace and vehicles. Based in Southern California near the Los Angeles International Airport, The Marvin Group consists of Marvin Engineering (MEC), Marvin Test Solutions (MTS) and Marvin Land Systems (MLS). Marvin Engineering designs and produces military Alternate Mission Equipment. Marvin Test Solutions designs and manufactures armament Test Equipment. Marvin Land Systems specializes in the design and build of power and thermal management systems. is searching for an experienced Facilities Engineer /Maintenance Manager. The Client supports all branches of the Department of Defense and allies around the globe on an array of programs and platforms. They support many of the larger military prime contractors. We are looking for a Manager Facilities Maintenance.

SCOPE

The Maintenance Facilities Manager (MFM) establishes and executes maintenance programs and Repairs that control and maintain the facility posture for the business. The MM reports to the Director of Facilities and together they implement the necessary infrastructure maintenance to ensure a safe and productive environment. The MFM requires strong leadership skills, excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and presentation skills. The MFM will interface professionally with various internal groups, customers, and other external personnel to effectively perform their duties.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design, develop, and execute the management or implementation of various preventative or predictive maintenance plans.
  • Drive maintenance team to beat world class Uptime and Utilization rates of all production equipment.
  • Administer and execute a comprehensive maintenance planning program in compliance with associated corporate policies and directives.
  • Assist in planning and executing strategic development plans for the facility.
  • Interface with and provide strong customer service to various departments within the company as a facilities leader.
  • Perform or manage required self-inspections of facility systems and programs.
  • Prepares and maintains budgets, RFQ’s, policy, and procedures for Maintenance.
  • Is responsible for handling, storing, and keeping maintenance records for entire company using the WO system.
  • Prepares assessments involving possible facility issues to inform executive management and correct deficiencies.
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering, Architecture, or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong Knowledge of equipment service and repair practices for Mazak, HAAS, and Okuma CNC machining centers; Fanuc Robots and drives; Allen Bradley PLCs and control systems; Ingersoll Rand air systems, and other plant equipment.
  • Strong Knowledge of building equipment service and repair practices for HVAC, Fire, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple groups at once and break broad plans down into executable tasks.
  • Understanding of Lean principles and methods, such as 6S and TPM required. Lean certification preferred.
  • Minimum 5-years of experience in a maintenance management role with a manufacturing company, contractor, Engineering/Architecture Firm, or similar is required.
  • Knowledge of supporting manufacturing disciplines, including safety processes and procedures, Machining, welding, assembly, document control, and quality inspections are required.
  • Knowledgeable of Engineering, construction, Project Management, and business systems, including ACAD, MS Project, SAP, or equivalent is preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs, bend, squat, climb stairs and ladders, and walk for more than 50% of the work day.
