As a leader in CoreSite’s Operations team, the Manager - Data Center Operations is responsible for all operational aspects and uptime of the data center. The manager provides technical expertise and program management for maintaining electrical, mechanical, fire life safety, security, and communications infrastructure, as well as base building support systems. All Data Center Operations staff report to this manager.
The role includes responsibilities for:
The position also oversees customer support, onsite vendor management, site efficiency, compliance, team training, and facility financials. The manager assists in developing budgets and ensures adherence to budget standards.
Responsibilities include implementing operational programs, employee training, shift scheduling, performance evaluations, and team meetings. The manager advises on maintenance programs, demonstrates technical knowledge across systems, ensures operational efficiency, and manages site security and compliance.
Additional duties involve overseeing installation and commissioning of new equipment, supervising subcontractors, managing maintenance discrepancies, developing and auditing procedures, mentoring staff, managing budgets, and leading customer and root cause analysis meetings. The role also supports sales activities, collaborates with network teams, and promotes CoreSite’s principles of operational excellence and culture.
Minimum requirements include:
Educational background should include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience, with over 10 years in critical infrastructure facilities, and specific experience in maintenance and project management.
Physical demands include mobility, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in high-stress environments, with flexibility for outside hours and on-call support.
