Job description

League One Volleyball (LOVB, pronounced “love”) is reimagining the sport of volleyball. Launched in 2019, our company is a mission-led sports performance, development and professional league that seeks to empower new generations of women athletes.

It is a groundbreaking time for volleyball in the US with our historic triple Olympic Gold medals in Women's Indoor, Beach and Sitting Volleyball. Volleyball is already the #1 most played girls' youth team sport. There are 38M current and former players today. Of major sports, it's the only one that is women-first (~90% of players are women). But the volleyball market has been almost entirely missed by traditional sports investors, brands, and media.

LOVB is capturing this opportunity. Today, we have created the largest youth club business in the country and are creating the next major American sports league. This community-up approach will drive participation and fandom, while enabling greater empowerment for girls and young women living this amazing sport. In this role, you will join a mission-driven, roll-up-your-sleeves team of innovators and builders who have come together to change the paradigm of professional volleyball and women’s sport.

The Role:

As the Manager of Executive Operations for LOVB Pro, you will play a pivotal role within the Office of the President team. Serving as a key partner to the President and Chief of Staff, you’ll drive strategic initiatives, build operational systems from the ground up, and accelerate value delivery across the league. This role is equal parts strategist, operator, and connector – ideal for a highly organized, high-EQ, and results-driven individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment. This is a unique opportunity to gain exposure to executive leadership, serve as a center of gravity for the organization, and solve complex business problems.

As a trusted partner to the Chief of Staff, you will collaborate across the entire league, ensuring high-priority initiatives are executed efficiently, elevating business performance, and helping the organization scale.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Program & Project Execution
  1. Drive execution of high-impact, cross-functional projects that deliver key business results.
  2. Implement operational frameworks that enhance collaboration, decision-making, and accountability.
  3. Identify project dependencies, risks, and blockers, ensuring timely resolution.
  4. Structure complex initiatives into clear, actionable plans, managing deliverables across multiple teams.
  5. Drive cross-functional collaboration to manage tier 1 matches and execute according to established goals.
League Operations & Business Rhythm
  1. Drive and optimize organizational cadence, including weekly meetings, reviews, and planning cycles.
  2. Support structured decision-making by enhancing meeting effectiveness, accountability models, and cross-functional integration.
  3. Understand the scope and risks of projects, collaborating with legal and compliance teams to address concerns and mitigate risks.
  4. Ensure KPIs and strategic priorities are driven forward with the necessary support from teams across marketing, finance, and other functions.
  5. Collaborate with the Chief of Staff to accelerate value delivery, ensure high-quality execution, unblock teams, and drive effective communication.
Insights, Research & Decision Support
  1. Provide data-backed insights and structured analysis to support sound decision-making.
  2. Conduct market research, performance tracking, and internal benchmarking to inform strategic initiatives.
  3. Synthesize findings into actionable recommendations for the Chief of Staff and President.
  4. Identify gaps and areas of struggle in current operations and work proactively to address them through process improvements and effective communication.
Special Projects
  1. Lead high-priority, short-term initiatives that require rapid execution.
  2. Work with the team to diagnose operational pain points and implement solutions.
  3. Step into critical operational gaps as needed to ensure the league operates effectively.
Executive Support & Communications
  1. Act as an extension of the Chief of Staff to ensure priorities are communicated and executed effectively.
  2. Draft internal and external communications, strategic materials, presentations, and updates.
  3. Foster strong cross-functional collaboration by connecting the dots between teams and workstreams.
Skills and Qualifications:
  1. 5-7 years experience in program management or account/project management with at least 2 years in sports or related industries (entertainment, live events, media).
  2. Proven ability to drive complex programs with multiple stakeholders.
  3. Experience in building operational systems from scratch to improve team efficiency and accountability.
  4. Strong track record of working with leadership teams to execute high-level initiatives.
  5. Fluency in project management and productivity tools (e.g., Asana, ClickUp, Airtable, etc).
  6. Start-up or agency experience is a plus.
Personal Attributes:
  1. Strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving abilities and sound judgment.
  2. Proactive and highly detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership.
  3. Comfortable with ambiguity and adaptable in dynamic environments.
  4. Exceptional communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Collaborative team player who fosters strong relationships across departments.
  6. Results-oriented with a bias toward action and achievement.
  7. Passion for LOVB’s mission and the ability to drive it forward.
Location:
  1. This is a remote position with a preference for candidates near one of our Pro Cities based in Atlanta, Austin, Salt Lake, Houston, Omaha, or Madison. Candidates must be located in the US.
  2. Reports to the Chief of Staff of the Pro League (based in New York City).
  3. Occasional travel may be required for key league events.

The pay range listed reflects the pay range for this position. The annual base salary for this role is $70,000-80,000, plus our comprehensive benefits package.

Salary offers are made based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. Individual pay is adjusted as performance is demonstrated and sustained at increasingly competent levels over time. With approval, experienced employees with critical skills may be hired above this guideline.

LOVB is an equal opportunity employer and welcomes everyone to our team.
