Position SummaryThe role will support the Senior Events Manager in managing the Firm's client and internal events on the West Coast. The position will develop and coordinate hospitality and event opportunities for the Firm's clients and regional sections working with the business development teams.Duties and AccountabilitiesLead and manage the preparation and delivery of West Coast (and Americas) events program to include virtual, in-person and hybrid events (300+ per year)Support the Americas' Senior Events Manager in overall team and project management in accordance with 2027 strategyTraining and mentoring of team members to ensure they are given the proper tools and structure to carry out best business practicesWork closely with the Firm's Business Development teams in setting annual event objectives in collaboration with the key stakeholders and measurement of success against these post eventCreating event ROI data and reporting to key stakeholdersManagement of budgets and reporting for events in the West Coast officesProject management of West Coast sponsorships that incorporates cross practice client events and cross-region communications– inclusive of working with relevant business development stakeholders to determine best course of list managementActive role in office management to implement best practice and annual event plansWork directly with senior operational managers to ensure efficiencies by following best practices while also consulting with other Event Managers globally and the Director of Events.Assisting in management of the event management tool implementation process – develop firm roll out plan across all regions (Cvent)Advance overall department goals through special projects and initiatives; including researching venues and attending industry-networking events to maximize knowledge and generate ideasProject lead Global Event Team objectives; including management working groups, timelines, progress reportsProject management of relevant “regional” team in ensuring all events data is up to date (for example, mid-year/year end fact packs)QualificationsA bachelor's degree is required; an advanced degree is preferred7+ years of work experience in events and hospitalityStrong time management skills, ability to stay calm under pressure when juggling multiple tasksDriven by professional growthStrong professional presenceTeam playerStrong judgementProactive, resourceful, takes initiativeResilience in dealing with changeExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work with all levels of staff and management as well as with the Firm's clientsExcellent negotiation and vendor management skills working with internal and external vendors (i.e., hotels, transportation companies, caterers, etc.)Excellent attention to detail, organization and project management skillsStrong budgeting, research, and analytical skillsAbility to take initiative, assume responsibility and work independently on multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment as a well as work effectively within a teamHigh level proficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteWilling to think outside of the boxAble to work in a high paced environment, managing multiple facets – not just related to eventsWilling to work on projects that are related to the firm’s growth and strategyMust be able to travel, work mornings and weekendsLocation and ReportingThis is a hybrid in-office role based in our LA office.This role reports to the Americas Senior Events Manager.This role reports toSenior Manager, EventsEqual OpportunitiesWhite & Case is an Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) employer and is committed to creating a fair workplace.
