Job summary

Axon is seeking an experienced Manager of Equity Compensation to oversee the day-to-day administration of our equity plans, including the eXponential Stock Plan (XSP). You will partner with Accounting, Payroll, People Ops, Tax and Legal to ensure accurate processing and timely reporting across domestic and international populations.

The role reports to the Senior Director – Head of Financial Reporting & Equity and supports in-house equity governance, SEC forms, and quarterly rollforwards, while

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field.
  • 7+ years experience in Stock Administration, with experience in a public company.
  • Excellent computer knowledge, including proficiency in Excel and interest in automation and artificial intelligence initiatives.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various types of equity awards and programs.
  • Understanding of accounting standards related to equity compensation.
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative skills with a commitment to quality, accuracy and details.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with an ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and internal/external partners
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with high initiative, flexibility, and team approach to work.
  • Acute attention to detail and well-developed organization and time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and high standards of ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Manage end-to-end administration of equity plans, including reviewing grants, exercises, releases and cancellations, reviewing monthly reconciliations, and monitoring share utilization with cross-functional teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders on evolution of the eXponential Stock Plan (XSP).
  • Implement best practices with controls and automate workstreams for accurate processing of equity data.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Accounting and People Ops on reporting of stock compensation for domestic and international employees.
  • Act as liaison between officers, employees and brokers for 10b5-1 trading plans and transactions.
  • Prepare Forms 3 and 4 to report Section 16 officer and director transactions in SEC filings.
  • Provide information for financial statement footnote disclosures and reconcile accounts related to stock and equity.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects as requested.

Your Impact

Axon is looking for an experienced Manager of Equity Compensation who will be responsible for the day-to-day activities of the company’s equity plans, including our unique eXponential Stock Plan (XSP). The ideal candidate is thoroughly familiar with equity incentive plans (stock options, RSUs and PSUs) and has experience with international considerations and tax implications. As a Manager of Equity Compensation, you will report directly to the Senior Director – Head of Financial Reporting & Equity and will interface extensively with the following teams: People Operations, Payroll, Legal, Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, Tax, and both internal and external audit.

What You’ll Do

Reports to: Senior Director – Head of Financial Reporting & Equity

Work Location: This role is eligible to be based out of Axon's US hubs located in Atlanta, Boston, New York, Virginia, Scottsdale, San Francisco or Seattle and follows a hybrid schedule. We rely on in-person collaboration and ask that team members work onsite Tuesdays through Fridays, with the flexibility to work remotely on Mondays, unless there is an approved workplace accommodation.   • Manage the end-to-end administration of equity plans, including reviewing grants, exercises, releases and cancellations, reviewing monthly reconciliations, and monitoring share utilization with a strong collaboration among Accounting, Finance, Payroll, People Operations, Tax, and Legal teams.
  • Partner with stakeholders on the continued evolution of our eXponential Stock Plan, which is an optional high-risk, high-reward employee stock plan designed to financially reward employees if the company excels.
  • Implement best practices with effective controls and automate workstreams to enable efficient, accurate and timely processing of equity data.
  • Coordinate with Payroll, Accounting and People Ops on the reporting of stock compensation for employee income purposes, both domestic and international.
  • Act as liaison between officers, employees and brokers in setting up and maintaining 10b5-1 trading plans and transactions as needed.
  • Prepare Forms 3 and 4 to report Section 16 officer and director transactions in SEC filings.
  • Provide information for financial statement footnote disclosures, reconcile the balance sheet accounts related to common stock, additional paid in capital, and related employee taxes; and prepare quarterly equity rollforward.
  • Perform other duties and ad hoc projects and reporting as requested.
