Job summary

The Hershey Company is seeking a Manager Engineering & Projects to lead CAPEX and civil infrastructure initiatives at our US operations. You will plan budgets, schedule, and execute projects, while ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, and food safety standards.

You will manage asset reliability, procurement, vendor relations, and cross-functional teams to deliver safe, cost-effective improvements that support manufacturing excellence and sustainability.

Qualifications

  • PMP certification and a B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering are required.
  • 7+ years in engineering project management with at least 4 years in PM and 1-2 years in plant civil/building maintenance, preferably in Food & Beverage.
  • Knowledge of GMP, HACCP, EHS, and statutory compliance is required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, budget, execute, monitor, and close CAPEX, infrastructure, sustainability, and related projects with governance and timelines.
  • Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of civil infrastructure, utility systems, and assets.
  • Oversee fabrication, workshop, procurement, contractor management, and vendor evaluations to support maintenance and projects.
  • Drive asset reliability, continuous improvement, energy efficiency, and cost optimization across the plant.
  • Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, Food Safety, and documentation through audits and risk assessments.

How Will You Fit In The Big Picture

To ensure safe, reliable, compliant, and cost-effective execution of engineering projects, CAPEX initiatives, civil infrastructure maintenance, utility network reliability, fabrication works, workshop operations, sustainability programs, and continuous improvement initiatives through strong planning, execution, documentation, stakeholder coordination, and governance.

What will you do?
  • Engineering Projects, CAPEX & Budget Management : Plan, budget, execute, monitor, and close CAPEX, infrastructure, sustainability, EHS, food safety, and continuous improvement projects while ensuring adherence to approved timelines, budgets, quality standards, and governance requirements.
  • Civil, Utility & Infrastructure Asset Management: Ensure reliable operation and maintenance of plant buildings, civil infrastructure, utility distribution systems, water storage facilities, pipelines, roads, roofs, and associated assets through preventive maintenance, inspections, repairs, and infrastructure improvement initiatives.
  • Fabrication, Workshop, Procurement & Contractor Management: Manage fabrication activities, workshop operations, procurement processes, vendor development, contractor execution, technical evaluations, material planning, and resource allocation to support maintenance and project
  • Reliability, Continuous Improvement & Sustainability: Drive asset reliability, operational excellence, energy conservation, sustainability, productivity enhancement, cost optimization, utility efficiency, and continuous improvement programs while tracking benefits and savings realization
  • Compliance, Safety, Documentation & Stakeholder Management: Ensure compliance with EHS, GMP, Food Safety, statutory and corporate requirements through effective documentation, audits, reporting, risk assessments, PTW/LOTO implementation, contractor safety management, and cross-functional stakeholder coordination.

  • CAPEX Managed: ₹ 20 Crores and above annually
  • Projects Handled: 8-10 projects/year
  • Plant Area Maintained: 50,000 sq. mtr.
  • Utility Systems Covered: Steam, Chilled Water, Air, Water, Fire Water, WTP, ETP, STP, Cooling tower & HVAC
  • Assets Maintained: Civil, Utility, Fabrication & Workshop Assets
  • Compliance Responsibility: EHS, GMP, Food Safety, Sustainability, Statutory Compliance
Minimum Education & Requirements
Education

PMP Certified, B.E/ B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline, preferred.

Experience

7y+ ( Minimum 4 year in Project management and 1-2 year in plant civil/Building maintenance) out of 7 Year Minimum 4 year in Food and beverage)

Knowledge
  • Knowledge of Food & Beverage/FMCG manufacturing, GMP, HACCP, Food Safety, EHS, and statutory compliance.
  • Understanding of Project Management, CAPEX, Budgeting, Cost Control, Procurement, Vendor & Contract Management.
  • Knowledge of Civil Maintenance, Fabrication, Welding, Industrial Infrastructure, and Utility Systems.
  • Working knowledge of Boilers, Steam, Air Compressors, Chillers, Cooling Towers, HVAC, DG Sets, WTP, ETP, STP, Fire Water, Process Water, Pumps, Motors, and VFDs.
  • Knowledge of Preventive Maintenance, Reliability Engineering, Asset Management, RCA, FMEA, TPM, Sustainability, Energy Management, ISO 50001, and Continuous Improvement.
