Job summary

Americold seeks a Warehouse Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance in a refrigerated facility, ensuring the reliability of machines, tools, and systems. You will lead maintenance staff, set work schedules, and drive safety and efficiency in a high-demand environment.

You will develop preventive programs, manage budgets, and coordinate long-term facility improvements while maintaining OSHA compliance and safety protocols.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse maintenance management experience.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Completion of all eight RETA courses.
  • HAZMAT certification.
  • Successful completion of the Americold Certified Maintenance Manager program within 6 months.

What You'll Do

You will oversee daily maintenance operations within a refrigerated warehouse, ensuring all machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems are installed, maintained, and repaired to support safe and effective facility functionality. You will plan and coordinate activities of maintenance associates, prioritize work schedules, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and municipal codes. You will resolve maintenance issues, develop preventive maintenance programs, and collaborate on budget planning and long-term facility improvements.

Essential Functions
  • Manage and coordinate daily maintenance activities including installation, repair, and upkeep of machines, tools, equipment, and utility systems for the refrigerated warehouse.
  • Plan and assign work schedules for maintenance associates, ensuring operational productivity and completion of maintenance requirements.
  • Develop, implement, and modify preventive maintenance programs by reviewing reports, inspecting equipment, and ensuring conformance with operational standards.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and all municipal and state codes related to mechanical, electrical, and safety requirements.
  • Resolve maintenance problems and assess future repair needs, coordinating necessary repairs to maintain equipment functionality.
  • Collaborate with management to prepare annual maintenance budgets, develop capital expense plans, and support long-term facility and equipment improvements.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment for employees and visitors by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
  • Other essential duties may be applicable and assigned as necessary.
What Experience and Education You Need
  • Minimum 5 years of warehouse maintenance management experience required.
  • High School diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
  • Completion of all eight RETA courses required.
  • HAZMAT certification required.
  • Successful completion of the Americold Certified Maintenance Manager program within 6 months of employment required.

Physical Requirements
  • Able to tolerate working environment with inside controlled temperatures of minus 45 (-45) degrees Fahrenheit (-43 degrees Celsius) and outside ambient temperatures (including heat, cold, and precipitation).
  • Able to work at heights in excess of 30 ft. (9 meters) and access elevated platforms, catwalks, and roofs.
  • Able to work in confined areas.
  • Able to climb ladders and stairs.
  • Able frequently to stand, walk, push, pull, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, and/or crouch.
  • Able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds (23 kg) frequently.
  • Able to operate hand and power tools safely.
  • Able to meet specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception. (Use of contacts are prohibited when working with ammonia.)
  • Depending on specific role, able to pass a physical and respiratory/respirator fit exam.
  • Able to frequently step up/on or step down/off to mount and dismount material handling equipment.
  • Able to perform fine articulation movements with fingers/hands and/or feet to operate equipment.
  • Able to wear personal protective equipment required for any/all tasks.
