Job description

Production Test Engineering Manager 2

Location: Palmdale, CA. The selected candidate will execute the production test SOW under the Production Test Team Manager, manage a diverse team of engineers and technicians, forecast requirements for future test activities, and provide career guidance and functional direction to team members.

Responsibilities

Essential functions include:

• Coordinate with Test leadership to execute the production test schedule in multiple cost centers, including running ATPs, regression testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and dynamic testing.
• Provide high‑level technical leadership and guidance to the team.
• Lead a team of up to 15 flight test technicians and test engineers in reaching program milestones.
• Develop System Test inputs for program planning and engineering strategies/execution objectives.
• Leverage support groups to assist the team with test execution.
• Support recruitment activities, including creation of requisitions, conducting interviews, and approving job offers.
• Provide team members with career development recommendations, mentoring, and training plans based on individual and program needs.
• Maintain excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to interface with all levels of employees and management.

Shift Schedule (varies by business needs):

• 4x10 schedule (Mon‑Thurs) 1st shift
• 4x10 schedule (Mon‑Thurs) 2nd shift
• 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 1st shift
• 3x10 schedule (Fri, Sat, Sun) 2nd shift

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 9 years of related professional/military aerospace experience, OR Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 7 years of related professional/military aerospace experience.
• Active Secret U.S. Government clearance (background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Special Access Program (SAP) within a reasonable timeframe.
• Experience operating within the flight/production test or operations environment.
• Leadership experience in projects or teams.
• Experience with engineering drawings, CPLM, Teamcenter, MES, or other maintenance/database systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Top Secret clearance with in‑scope SAP.
• Experience with troubleshooting methodologies.
• Experience operating under DCMA 8210 oversight.
• Previous ground/flight test operations experience.
• Prior management experience.
• Experience with Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
