Job summary

Trulioo seeks a Manager of Engineering to lead mobile and web teams across iOS, Android, and Web, directing delivery from discovery to release with a strong emphasis on AI-enabled productivity and best practices. The role collaborates with Product, Design, and GTM to align technology with business goals.

The position is full-time, hybrid (Vancouver or San Diego), and requires 5+ years in software engineering with leadership experience.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in computer science, engineering, or another STEM field.
• 5+ years of software engineering experience, including native mobile, web development, or adjacent product delivery.
• 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership, team leadership, or engineering management capacity.
• Strong people leadership skills, with the ability to coach engineers, unblock delivery, and give clear, actionable feedback.
• Strong technical judgment, with the ability to make architecture and implementation tradeoffs under real delivery constraints.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to connect technical work to customer value and business impact.
• Experience with the following tools/technology: Swift, Kotlin, React, TypeScript, React Native, and Kotlin Multiplatform.
• Demonstrated experience introducing or scaling a shared AI-assisted workflow, template, or tool within a team, with a clear process for catching and correcting weak AI output.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coach a team of engineers across iOS, Android, and Web, building an accountable, collaborative team culture that performs under deadline pressure.
• Own mobile and web delivery end to end – from discovery through release – including planning, sequencing, risk management, and stakeholder alignment.
• Set technical direction for mobile and web architecture, integration patterns, and quality standards, and hold the team to a high delivery bar.
• Partner with Product and UX to shape customer-focused mobile and web experiences that are practical to build and aligned to Trulioo's product strategy.
• Coordinate across backend, platform, identity, data, and go-to-market teams to keep mobile and web work aligned with business priorities and customer commitments.
• Establish and maintain engineering practices for code quality, automated testing, release readiness, observability, accessibility, and performance.
• Leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline workflows, and identify opportunities for continuous improvement while ensuring the responsible, secure, and compliant use of AI tools.
• Introduce and scale a shared AI-assisted workflow across the team – for code review, testing, or documentation – and hold a clear bar for catching and correcting weak AI output before it ships.

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Software Engineering, the Manager, Engineering will be responsible for leading Trulioo's mobile and web engineering team. This role owns team execution, technical direction, delivery quality, and cross-functional alignment for mobile and web products spanning iOS, Android, and Web, including consumer-focused flows that bring together Device Intelligence, KYC Docs, KYC Data, EID, and future identity capabilities. You will partner closely with Product, Design, Sales, Solutions, Platform, and senior technical leadership to turn business priorities into reliable, customer-ready mobile and web experiences.

This role is expected to leverage AI and emerging technologies to improve productivity, enhance decision-making, and continuously optimize how work is performed.

This will be a full-time, permanent position working out of the Vancouver or San Diego office on a hybrid model (3 days per week in the office).

What You'll Bring:

• Experience with cloud-backed mobile and web applications, microservices, APIs, and secure data handling.
