Carpenter Technology Corporation, Hartsville Operations, located in McBee, South Carolina, is seeking a Manager – Engineering to lead and direct all engineering activities within the mill. You will oversee facility expansion, capacity additions, and the procurement and implementation of new processes, technology, and equipment, while ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance.

The Carpenter Technology Corporation “Hartsville Operations” located in McBee, South Carolina, is a mini-mill supplying a variety of sizes and specifications of high-quality round, square and hexagonal stainless steel bars for distribution. Carpenter Technology acquired Talley Metals in 1997 to increase manufacturing capacity within the corporation’s core Specialty Alloys Operations division.

MANAGER – ENGINEERING

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THE MANAGER - ENGINEERING

• Plans and directs all aspects of engineering activities.
• Facility expansion and capacity additions
• New process/technology/equipment procurement and implementation
• Support of ongoing operations
• Health, safety, and environmental regulatory compliance.
• Ensures all projects, initiatives, and processes are in conformance with organization's established project management methodology, policies and objectives.
• Perform all other duties and special projects as assigned.

REQUIRED FOR THE MANAGER - ENGINEERING

• Ten or more years’ experience as an engineer in a manufacturing environment.
• Preference for five or more years managerial experience in a related technical discipline or manufacturing.
• Apply business and management expertise to achieve financial and operational objectives within or across areas or departments.
• Has multi-disciplinary knowledge across the areas or departments.
• Develop departmental plans including business, production, and/or organizational Manages resources to ensure financial and operational objectives are met.
• Expert knowledge of engineering principles, standards, methods, and practices.
• Ability to execute business plans and achieve goals.
• Ability to organize and prioritize tasks and make timely, appropriate technical and business decisions.
• Willingness to solve problems and investigate issues in mill manufacturing areas.
• Strong awareness of industry best practices and supporting technology.
• Ability to travel as required.
