Responsible for managing the development and implementation of processes and tools necessary to conduct and demonstrate effective Distribution Emergency Response including Crisis Response. Responsible for maintaining a fully trained, staffed, and qualified Emergency Preparedness and Response Organization (EPC) in conjunction with the Regional Operation Centers (ROCs). Responsible for the development, delivery, and maintenance of training programs for Storm Roles. Assures emergency response/storm restoration drills and exercises are developed, scheduled, and implemented that ensure proficiency of all responsible Distribution personnel. Responsible for After Action Reviews for events. Manages department personnel development, training, and performance management. Foster and create a safety conscious work environment. Maintain external relationships with local, state, or federal governments and peers within the utility industry along with professional industry organizations. Responsible as business lead for outage management system, public facing outage map, and municipal portal. Supports resource and communication applications and systems from a business perspective. Responsible for mutual assistance resource requests (request or dispatch). Works with ROCs, Ops Engineering, and Distribution Technology & Applications team to update and disseminate emergency plans for restoration of service, load curtailment, and black start plans. Manages team responsible for outage/restoration data analytics and company weather forecasting.

The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experiences that are required for entry into this job include the following:
  • 8-10+ years of related experience in the job with 4 years of previous management experience required.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities for motivating employees, valuing individual contributions, and creating a sense of team.
  • Full knowledge of distribution and transmission systems, electrical theory, corporate policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to demonstrate effective leadership, guiding teams towards achieving their objectives.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective information exchange.
  • Strong analytical skills to assess complex situations and develop strategic solutions.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of organization, managing and addressing multiple tasks efficiently and maintaining a structured work environment.
  • Excellent time management capabilities, consistently meeting deadlines and prioritizing tasks effectively.
  • Ability to utilize connections and collaborate with partner areas to execute tasks, particularly during storm and outage events.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to handle constantly changing and emerging priorities.
  • Ideally candidate will have some knowledge of incident command structure.
Education Requirements

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education: Bachelors
