Job summary

NextGenEnergyJobs is seeking an Electrification Manager to lead multiple solar installation crews and inspection personnel. This role drives installation and inspection volume forecasts while upholding safety, quality, and customer satisfaction standards.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years in construction with 2+ years in leadership, CPR/First Aid current, and strong data skills to forecast and report branch performance. A strong focus on teamwork and process improvement is essential.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of construction experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role (renewables a plus).
  • Valid state or local Electrical Journeyman and/or General Construction certification or license preferred. Depending on state requirements an Electrical Journeyman certification or license may be required.
  • Have CPR and First Aid certifications up to date and keep maintained for purposes of continued employment.
  • Managing and leading others: Builds a high performing, motivational environment through setting expectations, driving accountability, developing and empowering team members, and managing change.
  • Functional/technical expertise: Construction/electrical/PV installation knowledge, forecasting, data gathering and interpretation.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver against a committed installation and inspection volume forecast, with safety, customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, and cycle time metrics.
  • Ensure safety training and equipment for all branch team members.
  • Apply Best Practices consistently across branch operations.
  • Maintain excellent customer experience and escalate concerns; may include remove and replace projects.
  • Maintain knowledge of electrical/construction codes; act as construction SME for the branch.
  • Provide accurate installation forecasts and branch performance reporting; adjust capacity as needed.
  • Collaborate with Customer Success Specialist to ensure efficient execution of the construction schedule.
  • Organize crew structure and schedules for maximum productivity.
  • Conduct pre-construction reviews to determine resource requirements.
  • Communicate KPI targets and results; manage incentives and performance.
  • Lead training for field staff on safety, quality, customer service, efficiency and admin duties.
  • Conduct quality control and safety inspections and provide feedback to staff and departments.
  • Ensure projects are completed with high safety and quality standards.
  • Handle administrative duties: training docs, inspection docs, project docs, POs, timecards.
  • Conduct weekly safety Tool Box Talks on electrical safety practices, fall protection and PPE.

Job description

The Electrification Manager is a Field leadership position overseeing multiple solar (photovoltaic) installation crews and inspection personnel.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver against a committed installation and inspection volume forecast regularly, consistently, and against specific performance metrics such as safety, customer satisfaction, quality, productivity, and installation start to inspection complete cycle time.
  • Ensure that every member of the branch team receives the proper safety training and equipment applicable to their position
  • Ensure that “Best Practices” are being consistently applied throughout the branch operations
  • Work to ensure that we are delivering an excellent customer experience and escalate customer concerns as necessary. This may include remove and replace projects
  • Maintain advanced knowledge of electrical and general construction codes, and be the construction subject matter expert for the branch
  • Work with the Director, Electrification Operations to provide accurate installation forecasts and branch performance reporting and increase or decrease construction capacity as needed
  • Work closely with the Customer Success Specialist to ensure the efficient execution of the construction schedule
  • Organize and optimize crew structure and work schedule for highest productivity
  • Conduct pre-construction project reviews to determine resource requirements of the project
  • Clearly understand and communicate installation Key Performance Indicator (KPI) targets and results, along with any construction incentive contests
  • Review crew KPIs and provide feedback and performance management for field staff
  • Lead and assist in the training of the field construction staff including; safety, quality, customer service, efficiency and administrative responsibilities
  • Conduct quality control and safety inspections providing feedback to the construction staff, the Engineering Department, and the Director, Electrification Operations
  • Ensure all projects are being completed with a high level of safety and quality
  • Quickly and accurately handle required administrative duties including but not limited to: training documentation, inspection documentation, project documentation completion, field purchase orders and timecard data entry
  • Conduct weekly safety "Tool Box Talk" meetings to ensure the proper use of electrical safety practices, fall protection and PPE
  • Work closely with the Warehouse personnel to ensure crews are accurately and efficiently stocking/restocking installation vehicles and project materials
  • Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner, appropriately responding to their complements, questions and concerns
  • Manage the inspection technicians, holding them accountable to key KPIS and ensuring inspection capacity is staffed to reduce backlog and achieve expedient inspection completions
  • Depending on branch needs, may be responsible for documenting and completing service calls
  • Assist on project installations ensuring their successful completion as needed
Requirements

  • Have CPR and First Aid certifications up to date and keep maintained for purposes of continued employment (class costs are reimbursable by the company)
