Iberdrola SA is seeking an Engineering Manager for Distribution Engineering in Orange, CT. You will lead a team solving complex power distribution challenges, overseeing design concepts, and driving reliability and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a PE license (desired), a Bachelors in Electrical Engineering, 10 years of electrical engineering experience, and strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required.
• Advanced engineering degree is preferred.
• 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably in the power industry.
• Engineer-in-Training (EIT) examination completed.
• Professional Engineer license is desired.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work across teams.

Responsibilities

The Manager shall be able to perform and teach others to perform basic to complex power systems engineering analysis, design, and calculations pertaining to the electric distribution system. The Engineering Manager will maintain a broad perspective to identify innovative solutions while promoting a culture of safety, teamwork, and efficiency in a manner that promotes reliability and customer satisfaction.**Key Responsibilities*** Manage and provide technical guidance to direct and monitor the performance of an engineering team.* Review or oversee the Investigation, development, and presentation of design concepts, determination of alternate solutions, and the creation of action plans to resolve issues or to improve processes and services of the distribution power delivery system. This includes input into PPM and presentations to the Governance team for approvals.* Set clear expectations for the individuals and team that align with the corporate strategic plan. The team will solve complex problems pertaining to the repair, replacement, maintenance, or new construction of the electric distribution system.* Evaluate the results produced by the individual/team and be accountable for the performance of the engineers and the team.* Promote cross functional teamwork on assigned tasks and projects.* Promote and follow the Company policies and procedures with regard to safety, ethics and performance.* In coordination with the Sr. Manager, Distribution Engineering & Scheduling, develop the goals, strategies, and supporting initiatives for the engineering team.* Identify and make recommendations to resolve technical, operational, and organizational issues within the Distribution Engineering department.* Represent Distribution Engineering on assigned project teams.* Direct, review, and evaluate the engineering work of engineers and outside engineering firms.* Direct, follow, and adjust the processes, policies and standards related to the distribution system infrastructure to meet customer and stakeholder needs.* Provide technical or functional expertise within the Distribution Engineering department and provide support as needed to Field Planning and other Company departments.* Create and give presentations to corporate/regulatory/public entities with regard to projects and design concepts as needed.* Follow the research and developments taking place in the power industry, through training and industry associations.* Respond as needed to assist in storm restoration efforts.* Respond to escalated issues involving customers, regulators or internal groups that involve the Distribution Engineers.* For uncommon and complex issues that require specific engineering expertise will identify, procure and coordinate contractors to assist with resolving the issue.* The listed Key Responsibilities/Duties are not intended to be all inclusive.
