Job summary

KGPCo is seeking a Facility Manager to oversee daily operations of the Distribution Center, including shipping, planning, budgeting, and system functionality. You will coordinate projects with senior leadership to ensure timely, cost-efficient results and maintain high standards of safety and service.

You will lead direct reports, manage budgets, and drive continuous improvements across departments such as Receiving, Quality Control, and Order Fulfillment while maintaining compliance with SOPs

Qualifications

  • Proven ability to manage distribution operations and personnel.
  • Strong budgeting and forecasting skills.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and safety programs.

Responsibilities

  • Direct daily DC operations including shipping, receiving, and order fulfillment.
  • Coordinate cross-functional projects with senior management.

Responsibilities
SUMMARY:

The role and responsibilities of this position include managing and coordinating the overall daily operational needs of the Distribution facility. This includes but is not limited to, shipping, traffic, planning, budgeting/forecasting and operating system functionality. The Facility Manager will make key decisions and coordinate all projects, while also partnering with the Director of Distribution Operations and other business leaders to ensure that a high sense of urgency, detail, communication, and teamwork is exhibited towards all company objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Organize and direct the activities of all Distribution Center departments including Order-picking, Shipping, Receiving, Returned Goods Inventory, and Quality Control to ensure timely and cost-effective operations and adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Establish operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments.
  • Confer with procurement to ensure proper handling and disposition of inventory and returns, and overall inventory movements.
  • Coordinate activities of the entire facility driving light manufacturing, customer service and purchasing departments to ensure availability of merchandise.
  • Oversee order volume and outbound schedules to meet internal goals as well as expectations of customers.
  • Recommend changes when necessary and assist in implementation of new processes.
  • Direct facility expense and purchasing to ensure compliance with annual budget.
  • Report to upper-level management regarding overall operations and performance on a daily basis.
  • Partner with senior management and lead facility personnel to improve process, performance and maximize overall facility efficiency.
  • Actively participate in company planning processes to include forecasts, master plans, budget preparations, implementations, labor management and departmental review of performance.
  • Reviews performance reports for efficiency, quality, schedule, and attainment versus 'plan" and reports corrective action taken on variances.
  • Reviews invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and demand forecasts to estimate peak volume periods and to issue work assignments.
  • Interview, select, and train facility management and supervisory personnel.
  • Confer with senior leaders to coordinate facility activities, such as production, light assembly, receiving, shipping, order fulfillment, records control, and all value-added service activities.
  • Respond to customers' or sales’ questions and complaints regarding order fulfillment and distribution services.
  • Participates in building and manages departmental budgets.
  • Maintains compliance with SOPs for receiving, storing, picking, and shipping of finished goods.
  • Ensures all warehouse area housekeeping standards are maintained and adhered to as well as all Safety procedures and that OSHA applicable standards are met.
  • Track and control manpower within budget while ensuring that distribution schedules are met.
  • Evaluate workflow needs and inventory activity to manage the allocation of employees between departments.
  • Responsible for emergency coverage (24x7)
  • Manages clerical staff performing support activities.
  • Conducting facility tours for existing and potential clients.
  • Management of Performance and Labor Management Systems
  • Responsible for managing TL9000 compliant standards and maintaining audit evidence.
  • Responsible for the counseling process by monitoring employee attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and by generating counseling forms and counseling employees, as needed.
  • Prepares and approves all direct report performance appraisals, assures Center compliance to H/R policies, and follows all company policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Driving is an essential function of this position.
Safety Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Adhere to, promote, and accept responsibility for compliance to Federal and Local Occupational Safety and Health Regulations, Industry Consensus Standards, and KGP Injury and Illness Prevention Program Manual. Participate in job site safety/hazard analysis.

ADMINISTRATION AND MANAGEMENT
  • Proficient knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
MATHEMATICS
  • Proficient skills in basic arithmetic, algebra, and statistics
COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Knowledge in excel, word, and frameworks.
PRODUCTION AND PROCESSING
  • Proficient knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.
SALES AND MARKETING
  • Basic knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services. This includes marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s Degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university; or 7-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations; ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
