Job summary

White Cap is seeking a Dispatch Manager in California to lead delivery operations, optimize routing, and ensure safety and efficiency across the fleet. The role partners with warehousing and sales to meet delivery commitments while maintaining high standards of service.

Ideal candidates have supervisory experience, familiarity with routing software, and knowledge of DOT regulations. This position offers strong growth potential within White Cap's expanding operations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of leadership experience in dispatch/delivery operations.
• Experience with routing software.
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and driver safety programs.

Responsibilities

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated safely and in compliance with standards.
• Routes drivers effectively to meet planned and unplanned commitments.
• Maintains vehicle fleet and coordinates with Warehouse for inventory control.
• Collaborates with Inside Sales to resolve delivery issues and reroute trucks.

A Dispatch Manager at White Cap...

• Manages, recruits, and hires all Delivery Drivers and Dispatchers.
• Ensures delivery trucks are loaded and operated in compliance with all safety standards.
• Ensures Drivers are routed effectively to meet planned and unplanned delivery commitments.
• Ensures vehicle fleet is properly maintained.
• Minimizes turn-around times through direct supervision of Drivers.
• Works with Warehouse Manager to ensure seamless integration of Delivery and Warehouse operations and proper inventory controls.
• Works closely with Inside Sales and Account Managers to resolve delivery issues, reroute trucks and make unplanned vendor pickups.
• Develops and maintains expert knowledge of the branch delivery area geography.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Generally has 7+ years of experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior supervisory experience
• Experience with routing software.
• Experience with DOT regulations and driver safety programs.
