Job summary

CLA is seeking an experienced International Tax Services Manager/Director to lead complex cross-border tax work, advise clients, drive business development, and mentor professionals across the firm. This role may be based in any CLA office location nationwide and offers flexibility.

You will apply deep knowledge of foreign and US tax to international client matters, manage engagements, and help build the ITS practice while delivering practical tax solutions.

Qualifications

• 6 years of relevant experience required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required.
• CPA required (EA or JD may be accepted in lieu of CPA certification).
• Deep technical knowledge of international tax, foreign and US tax law.

Responsibilities

• Acts as a consultant regarding international business challenges and cross-border transactions.
• Researches client international tax issues and applies solutions in foreign tax credits, mergers and acquisitions, repatriation of earnings, treaty analysis.
• Prepares and reviews the US international component of complex individual and corporate tax returns.
• Maintains current knowledge of foreign and US tax laws.
• Excels at engagement management and operational excellence.
• Mentor and escalate for Associate and Senior International Tax Service members.

CLA is seeking an experienced International Tax Services Manager/Director to join our growing ITS practice. This leadership role offers the opportunity to advise clients on complex international tax matters, drive business development initiatives, and mentor high-performing professionals across the firm. For the right candidate, this position offers flexibility and may be based in any CLA office location nationwide.

How you’ll create opportunities in this International Tax role:

• Acts as a consultant regarding a wide range of typical international business challenges, ranging from going international for the first time to optimizing existing international structures to assisting with the implementation of efficient cross-border transactions.
• Efficiently researches client international tax issues and apply solutions in the areas of foreign tax credit planning, mergers and acquisitions, repatriation of earnings, treaty analysis and export sales incentives
• Prepares and reviews the US international component of complex individual and corporate tax returns
• Maintains current knowledge of foreign and US tax laws
• Excels at engagement management and operational excellence.
• Act as mentor and point of escalation for Associate and Senior International Tax Service members

The compensation range for this position in Colorado is: $130,000.00 - $211,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Illinois is: $119,000.00 - $211,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Maryland is: $140,000.00 - $227,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Massachusetts is: $140,000.00 - $227,000.00

The compensation range for this position in Minnesota is: $106,000.00 - $203,000.00
