Job summary

Deloitte in London is seeking an experienced Manager to join the Digital Regulation Assurance team and lead high-impact assurance projects for major digital platforms.

We are looking for an experience and motivated Manager to join the Digital Regulation Assurance team in London to lead and contribute to the delivery of high-impact assurance projects across a range of clients and technologies.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the delivery of assurance and advisory services for large online platforms. You will understand our clients' industry and the issues they face on regulatory compliance. The combination of your specialist and core assurance skills, industry expertise and on-going investment in this area will allow you to anticipate complex business problems for our clients and recommend appropriate action. You will be:

• Leading the delivery of assurance engagements assessing major technology platforms’ compliance with digital regulation, including the Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act and EU AI Act.
• Translating complex regulatory requirements into clear risk assessments, assurance strategies and proportionate testing procedures.
• Leading and managing a team in conducting in-depth reviews of governance, processes and controls, including evaluating the design and operating effectiveness of controls using Deloitte’s methodologies and tools.
• Evaluating evidence, exercising professional judgement and communicating clear, well-supported findings and practical recommendations to senior client and regulatory stakeholders.
• Leading multidisciplinary teams, reviewing work, coaching junior colleagues and fostering an inclusive, collaborative and high-performing team environment where individual contributions are recognised.
• Leading the project management of engagements, including planning, budgeting, supervising junior team members, managing risks and issues, and ensuring accountability for deliverables and timelines.
• Working effectively in diverse, cross-service line teams, leveraging internal networks to deliver comprehensive solutions to clients. This will involve collaborating with colleagues from other service lines to deliver integrated solutions to complex client challenges.
• Building trusted relationships with senior stakeholders and acting as a subject matter expert on Digital Regulation, regulatory compliance and assurance matters.
• Supporting business development through proposals, client presentations and the identification of new opportunities.
• Developing and implementing innovative assurance approaches to address emerging risks and challenges in the rapidly evolving landscape of Digital Regulation.

To qualify for this role essentials are:

• Keen interest in regulatory requirements relating to digital regulation (e.g. Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act, Online Safety Act, EU AI Act, etc).
• Experience in internal or external audit or assurance, including planning and scoping engagements, assessing risk, developing proportionate audit procedures, performing design and operating effectiveness testing of controls, evaluating evidence, exercising professional judgement and forming clear, well-supported conclusions. Experience of regulatory or compliance audits is desirable.
• Proven ability to manage audit or assurance engagements from planning through to completion, including directing multidisciplinary teams, reviewing work and evidence, resolving significant findings and communicating outcomes and practical recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering high-quality reports and presentations to senior stakeholders, effectively communicating complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
• Experience leading and managing projects, including the development of project plans, resource allocation, budget management, and risk mitigation.
• Proven ability to mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment.
• Experience in managing client expectations and delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
• A meticulous attention to detail, coupled with a structured and thorough approach to delivering high-quality output.
• Highly motivated and results-oriented individual with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated initiative and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• A keen interest in exploring and applying AI-enabled tools responsibly to streamline processes, enhance efficiency and improve the quality and consistency of deliverables.
• Holding or working towards a professional qualification (e.g. ACA)
• Knowledge and experience in the regulatory landscape surrounding major digital platforms (e.g. Digital Services Act, Digital Markets Act, Online Safety Act, EU AI Act, etc).
• Experience in interpreting and applying regulatory requirements and standards to practical scenarios and advising clients on compliance strategies.
• Experience in projects related to control enhancement and regulatory change, either within a professional services firm or in industry.
• Use of Gen-AI to drive enhanced efficiencies in delivery and design of services.
