Job summary

Dick's Sporting Goods is seeking a Manager of DC Operations in Fort Worth, TX. The role oversees shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution for merchandise to stores, ensuring efficient, accurate processes and adherence to internal/external requirements.

The 2nd shift runs 4:00pm–12:30am, Monday through Friday, with a focus on training, process improvement, safety, and cost controls across the distribution center.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Management, Industrial Management or related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience, including 5 years warehousing, receiving, inventory control, or materials management in a distribution center/manufacturing environment and 5 years supervisory experience.
  • PC proficiency in MS Office.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate a thorough understanding of technical systems & logistics the distribution process.
  • Manage all aspects of training and development of warehouse associates and supervisors.
  • Develop and execute action plans for improvements to meet company goals and objectives.
  • Perform inventory management, cycle counts, and physical audits maintaining accuracy standards.
  • Design initiatives and develop strategies to increase the effectiveness of logistics functions.
  • Guide team members in daily operations to ensure a high degree of safety, service and quality.
  • Evaluate current work methods and determine ways to eliminate inefficiencies.
  • Plan and coordinate work, monitor and evaluate the performance of warehouse associates and supervisors.
  • Ensure that materials are staged for inventory and inspection.
  • Monitor the flow of paperwork ensuring timely data entry.
  • Monitor and measure the accuracy of location, movement and storage of material.
  • Develop and recommend budget requirements for the warehouse.
  • Maintain a personnel structure and staffing level, to accomplish the distribution center needs in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Maintain all established through-put standards.
  • Meet budget goals and productivity standards.

The Manager of DC Operations plans, organizes, and monitors the shipping, receiving, storage, and distribution of all items received ensuring smooth and consistent operations. Ensures that merchandise is located and distributed to proper stores in an effective and efficient manner following established internal and external requirements.
