Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to lead the DATM team at the Linthicum, MD site. You will drive data architecture, ETL pipelines, and analytics to support the QMA strategy and improve decision making across the organization.

The role requires strong leadership of cross-functional teams, expertise in SQL and Tableau, and a background in large-scale distributed software and Agile development. Travel is approximately 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s preferred or 12 years of experience in lieu of degree.
• 2+ years as a technical leader of product development teams.
• Experience presenting complex analytics to varied audiences.
• Strong understanding of QMA, Operations, and engineering processes.
• Experience with large-scale distributed software and Agile methodologies.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and foster engineering excellence.
• Experience in product vision development.

Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to lead the Data Architecture, Tools, and Metrics(DATM) team and activities. The team is responsible for establishing a culture of data driven decision making and creating business value through promoting the application of data analytics and Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and techniques across the Quality and Mission Assurance(QMA) function. They will regularly interact with key stakeholders to identify, develop, and deploy data architecture and tools that are aligned to the QMA strategic roadmap. The successful candidate must be an innovative leader and a self-starter with the ability to creatively identify solutions to difficult problems.

This position will be located at the Linthicum, MD site.

What You'll Get To Do:

• Develop and implement the Data strategy to support the QMA Strategy

• Lead the execution of DATM activities including leading relevant objectives related to the QMA Strategy

• Drive the adoption of metrics and data analysis methodologies across sector for improved performance analysis

• Lead the monitoring and analysis of operational data to identify trends, issues and opportunities, and provide recommendations/solutions

• Actively engage with sector leaders and key stakeholders to identify and understand operational issues and develop solutions

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and Extract, Translate, and Load(ETL) processes across multiple data sources

• Build and optimize data models for analytics and reporting

• Implement robust data quality, validation, and monitoring frameworks to ensure reliability of downstream insights

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in related discipline and 8 years minimum of related data engineering experience; OR a Master's degree with 6 years of related data engineering experience; OR may accept 12 years of related data engineering experience in lieu of degree

• 2 years as a technical leader of product development teams that have successfully delivered customer-driven products

• Experience and excellent ability to present complex analytical subject matter across varied audiences

• Strong understanding and knowledge of QMA, Operations, and engineering processes, tools, and techniques

• Experience with large scale distributed software and agile software development methodologies

• Demonstrated experience developing product visions and fostering effective engineering teams

• Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or Computer Science

• Experience with UX design and development

• Strong proficiency in SQL

• Strong proficiency developing and deploying Tableau dashboards and the ability to translate business needs into visual insights

• Software development experience

• Experience collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing insights from multiple data sources

• Understanding of Northrop Grumman policy, process, and products

• Ability to make decisions with minimal support

• Experience in a program management role

Primary Level Salary Range: $167,500.00 - $251,300.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
