Job Overview
Mattel’s Global Insights & Analytics team is seeking a Data Analytics Manager to partner with Walmart and deliver data‑driven insights that accelerate toy category growth. The role involves becoming an expert in Walmart Luminate data, synthesizing insights with other data sources, building Tableau dashboards, and leading projects from discovery through completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Become the Walmart Luminate data expert to identify, quantify, and communicate growth opportunities.
- Synthesize Luminate insights with other data sources to understand what is happening, why, and where it matters, and make sound recommendations.
- Leverage Walmart data to:
- Understand toy category, segment, and product performance and measure key KPIs.
- Conduct market basket analysis to uncover associations and cross‑selling opportunities.
- Analyze promotional performance at item level and recommend strategies.
- Compare online and in‑store shopping patterns for merchandising insights.
- Create actionable navigational and product placement recommendations for the Walmart buyer.
- Build and maintain Tableau dashboards and manage dashboard adoption.
- Lead projects from discovery to completion, working with internal and external partners.
- Develop operating guidelines, processes, and functional best practices.
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Mathematics, Data Science, or equivalent experience.
- 8+ years working with large datasets, drawing insights, and presenting recommendations.
- 5+ years analyzing datasets such as Luminate, Circana, Nielsen, Numerator, or Dunnhumby.
- 3+ years of experience with Tableau visualizations.
- Experience supporting an organization to become data‑ and insight‑driven, with a track record of influencing action.
- Strong consulting and project management skills across multiple stakeholder levels.
- Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast‑paced regional environment.
- Proficiency in statistical modeling and programming languages such as R, Python, SAS, or SQL.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office tools.
Salary: $122,000 – $150,000 (annual base, depending on location, skills, and experience).
