Manager, Corporate FP&A

Department: Finance

Employment Type: Full Time

Location: Redondo Beach

Compensation: $140,000 - $185,000 / year

Description

As a Manager, Corporate FP&A at Impulse Space, to own the forecast, the annual budget, and the numbers behind our board and investor materials. The role reports to the VP of Finance and works closely with the CFO.

In this role, you will be a hands-on builder: owning the model, partnering with program and functional leaders, and turning operating detail into clear, decision-ready analysis for leadership, the board, and investors.

Responsibilities
  • Own the company's integrated three-statement financial model and rolling forecast, including revenue, program costs, opex, capex, headcount, and cash
  • Collaborate with customer segment FP&A leads to gather program specific details to drive consolidated corporate modeling
  • Contribute to the monthly and quarterly forecast process, partnering with program, engineering, operations, and G&A leaders to gather and pressure-test inputs
  • Build scenario and sensitivity analyses on mission timing, launch schedules, cash conversion, production rates, and contract awards
  • Maintain a reliable cash runway and liquidity view to support financing and capital allocation decisions
  • Run the annual operating plan and long-range plan process end to end: calendar, templates, department reviews, and consolidation.
  • Produce monthly budget-vs-actual and forecast-vs-actual reporting with clear variance commentary and follow-up actions
  • Partner with department heads on headcount planning, spend management, and resource trade-offs
  • Track and report program-level economics, including unit costs and margin by vehicle and mission
  • Working with the CFO and VP of Finance, prepare the financial sections of quarterly board decks: results, forecast updates, KPIs, cash, and key variances
  • Coordinate content and timelines across functions so board materials are accurate, consistent, and delivered on schedule
  • Prepare supporting analysis and backup for audit committee and board discussions as needed
  • Build financial content for investor updates, fundraising materials, and lender or strategic partner discussions
  • Support diligence by preparing data room materials and answering financial and model-related requests
  • Help develop the KPI framework, guidance discipline, and equity story needed as the company prepares for the public markets
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in FP&A, investment banking, private equity, or corporate finance, with at least 2 years in a corporate FP&A role
  • Expert financial modeling skills, including integrated three-statement models and scenario analysis built from scratch
  • Track record preparing board and investor materials that executives present without heavy rework
  • Strong command of Excel and PowerPoint; comfort working directly in ERP and planning systems (Netsuite experience preferred)
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in aerospace, space, defense, hardware, or other capital-intensive businesses with program or contract-based revenue
  • Familiarity with project or program accounting and government contract economics
  • Clear written and verbal communication; able to explain the story behind the numbers to non-finance leaders
  • Ownership mindset and comfort with ambiguity in a fast-moving, high-growth environment
