Job summary

Ladders, a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space, seeks a Manager, Controls to lead post-commissioning technical support for industrial automation systems.

You will guide a team of controls engineers, develop training programs, track KPIs, and collaborate with software, mechanical, and operations teams to address systemic issues and improve uptime.

This remote role is US-based with no visa sponsorship available.

Qualifications

  • Requires high school degree; formal electrical engineering training preferred.
  • 5+ years in industrial automation with at least 2 years in team leadership.
  • Proven proficiency with multiple controls platforms and troubleshooting.
  • Strong diagnostics and long-term support experience.
  • Experience developing and executing training programs for technical teams.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, high-uptime environments.

Responsibilities

Job description

For our client, we are seeking a Manager, Controls to join the team of a leader in the Manufacturing & Automotive space.

This role will lead post-commissioning technical support for industrial automation systems, ensuring the reliability and uptime needed to keep operations running smoothly. The manager will guide a team of controls engineers, strengthen technical capabilities through structured training, and help drive faster resolution of complex issues. This position partners closely with software, mechanical, and operations teams to address systemic problems and improve support effectiveness across multiple control platforms.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $115,900 - $173,800 annually

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a diverse team of controls engineers for post-commissioning technical support
  • Create and implement a structured training program to enhance team capabilities across control platforms
  • Track training progress using KPIs and skills assessments to address capability gaps
  • Oversee resolution prioritization of technical issues, ensuring minimal disruptions to operations
  • Act as a point of escalation for complex troubleshooting and critical incidents
  • Collaborate with software, mechanical, and operational teams to address and resolve systemic issues
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, knowledge bases, and standard operating procedures
Qualifications
  • High school degree required; formal training in Electrical Engineering or a related field preferred
  • 5+ years of industrial automation experience, including a minimum of 2 years in team leadership
  • Proven proficiency with multiple controls platforms and troubleshooting
  • Strong technical support and diagnostics expertise; experience in long-term support roles
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute training programs for technical teams
  • Excellent interpersonal communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced environments with high operational uptime
