Job summary

Kate Spade New York is seeking an experienced Architectural Construction Project Manager to oversee the delivery of new stores and renovations across its global retail portfolio. You will manage projects through design and construction, including procurement, vendor management, and construction administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of professional experience in architectural construction management or project management, ideally in retail or hospitality environments.
  • Hands-on experience with all phases of design and construction, including construction administration, procurement, and vendor coordination.
  • Strong understanding of millwork, custom fixtures, and material specifications.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD; familiarity with 3D design software (SketchUp, Rhino) and Microsoft Project or similar project management tools.
  • Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, global environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to balance design intent with budget, schedule, and operational constraints.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the management of new store openings, remodels, and global rollouts from pre-construction through closeout.
  • Oversee construction administration, including site coordination, submittal review, RFI management, and quality control.
  • Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, and procurement plans to ensure timely, cost-effective delivery.
  • Coordinate with internal teams (Store Design, Visual Merchandising, Real Estate, Operations) and external partners (contractors, architects, consultants, vendors) to maintain alignment on scope, quality, and timelines.
  • Facilitate bidding and procurement processes for materials, millwork, fixtures, and construction services.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor progress, ensure adherence to design intent, and resolve issues proactively.
  • Track project milestones, budgets, and reporting metrics; communicate updates to leadership and stakeholders.
  • Support international projects by managing local code compliance, permitting, and contractor coordination.
  • Maintain project documentation, including contracts, change orders, and as-built drawings.
