Job summary

The candidate will provide the following but not all-inclusive technical support to the program:

Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, coaching and career development for your employees.

Tracking to completion tasking and assignments for the team, assisting with workload balancing across team members, collecting metrics, and performing other project management functions as applicable.

Collaborate with design process and governance team and other engineering assignment managers/leads to align priorities and support overall execution of program objectives.

Provide performance feedback, training, mentoring, coaching and career development for your employees.

Support workforce planning and maintain sufficient depth and breadth of skillsets within your department’s core discipline to meet program needs.

Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with homeroom directorate senior management, peers, and employees.

Support development and refinement of processes and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their missions.

Support proposal work, independent technical reviews, program standup and audits, and special assignments on an as needed basis.

Support employee engagement, hiring, development, training, attraction, and retention of top talent.

Responsibilities, for this job, include providing CM/DM Leadership to a Program. Leading a team of highly skilled, exempt and non-exempt CM/DM Professionals. Planning and preparation of project documentation, such as engineering drawings, production specifications and schedules, and contract modifications, to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviewing contracts to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering and manufacturing processes. Analyzing proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinate modification records for management control. Establishing change orders and preparing change authorization and documentation by company and subcontractor. Review and analyze released engineering change data and coordinate changes with engineering, quality, support, manufacturing and engineering data control activities.

The ability to independently lead teams, creatively solve problems and add value is required to succeed in this job.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years of related experience, a Master’s Degree in a related discipline and 3 years of relevant experience or over 9 years in related experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience developing solutions for complex hardware and software configuration management issues, as it relates to engineering problems.

A working knowledge of CM standard practices and procedures, such as Mil-HDBK-61 and EIA 649.

Knowledgeable and practical applications in change management, part number identification & control.

Ability to support Internal and/or External Audits.

Excellent written and verbal interpersonal, communication, leadership, and mentoring skills and confidence to brief Leadership.

Attention to detail, coupled with the ability to learn quickly, assess and evaluate new processes/procedures with minimal oversight.

Skills to create and deliver technical data packages and release and submit C/SDRL’s, utilizing IDE Tools.

Experience conducting CCB activities and providing CM Performance Metrics (CSA).

Processing and controlling EO/ECO’s and hardware effectivities.

Preparing Hardware Configuration Management Plans.

Experience working with chief engineers and Integrated Product Teams.

Demonstrated ability to delegate tasks, and mentor junior engineers and analysts.

Ability to obtain & maintain a US government Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience leading Teams, of up to 10 personnel.

Certified to industry standards & familiarity with the practical application of industry and Standards, such as: ASME, Y14.100, ANME Y14.SM, and MIL-STD-130.

Demonstrated experience in one, or more, of the following disciplines:
Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
Design Database Management

Experience in the use of the following software tools PDM or PLM, such as Solid Works, Team Center, SharePoint, or SMARTEAM.

SAP and MRP.

Experience preparing FCA/PCA procedures.

Documented experience in hardware configuration management, through all phases of product and Project lifecycles to include:

Establishing and managing HWCI data repositories
Processing and controlling EO/ECO’s and hardware effectivities

Processing engineering design documents for submission for Procurement or Manufacturing

Primary Level Salary Range: $110,000.00 - $165,000.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
