Job description

Zenas is a clinical-stage global biopharmaceutical company committed to becoming a leader in the development and commercialization of transformative therapies for patients with autoimmune diseases. Our core business strategy combines our experienced leadership team with a disciplined product candidate acquisition approach to identify, acquire and develop product candidates globally that we believe can provide superior clinical benefits to patients living with autoimmune diseases. Zenas is advancing two late-stage, potential franchise molecules, obexelimab and orelabrutinib. Obexelimab, Zenas’ lead product candidate, is a bifunctional monoclonal antibody designed to bind both CD19 and FcγRIIb, which are broadly present across B cell lineage, to inhibit the activity of cells that are implicated in many autoimmune diseases without depleting them. We believe that obexelimab’s unique mechanism of action and self-administered, subcutaneous injection regimen may broadly and effectively address the pathogenic role of B cell lineage in chronic autoimmune disease. Orelabrutinib is a potentially best-in-class, highly selective CNS-penetrant, oral, small molecule Bruton’s Tyrosine Kinase (BTK) inhibitor with the potential to address compartmentalized inflammation and disease progression in Multiple Sclerosis (MS). Zenas’ earlier stage programs include ZB021, a clinical-stage, potentially best-in-class, oral, IL-17AA/AF inhibitor; ZB022, a preclinical, potentially best-in-class, oral, brain-penetrant, TYK2 inhibitor; and ZB014, a preclinical half-life extended anti-CD-19 and FcγRIIb monoclonal antibody.

We are seeking top talent who share our commitment to patients and have a track record of success in acquiring, developing and commercializing products across the globe. Our colleagues have an opportunity to engage in a fast-paced learning environment and experience individual and organizational success as we work towards becoming a global immunology and autoimmune disease leader, while living our values of Transparency, Relationships, Urgency, Excellence and Innovation — TRUE Innovation!

Position Summary:

The Manager, Commercial Supply Chain Operations is a hands-on, execution-focused role responsible for the day-to-day planning, scheduling, and operational coordination that keep Zenas’ commercial products flowing reliably across our external manufacturing and distribution network. Reporting to the Senior Director of Commercial Supply Chain Planning & Operations, the incumbent owns the tactical engine of commercial supply: finished goods planning and scheduling, inventory management and control, production schedule maintenance at CDMOs, and the coordination, shipping, and logistics required to keep inventory replenished and available.

A central focus of this role is drug product (DP) to finished goods (FG) planning and scheduling. The incumbent will plan, coordinate, and track the progression from DP through packaging into finished goods. This person will bring proven, hands‑on expertise in this area and a clear sense of what "good" looks like.

This role works collaboratively across Technical Operations, Quality, and Commercial, and directly with CDMOs, 3PLs, and other external partners. Additionally, this role supports commercial supply planning and the Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, responds to temperature excursions and shipping related issues, and helps build the tools, processes, and metrics needed to scale Zenas’ supply chain.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Plan, coordinate, and manage the progression of drug product (DP) through packaging into finished goods, ensuring FG runs are scheduled and executed promptly upon DP release to maximize product shelf life and meet demand.
  • Manage and maintain finite production schedules at Zenas’ CDMOs, ensuring on-time manufacture, execution, testing, and release of DS, DP, and FG batches in alignment with forecast requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Own inventory management and control across the network of CDMOs and 3PLs, ensuring inventory targets are met and inventory is positioned to support reliable, uninterrupted supply.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of inventory across the manufacturing and distribution network, maintaining visibility to inventory levels, batch status, material movements, and expiry.
  • Manage the shipping and logistics of product and material movements throughout the supply chain, coordinating shipments between manufacturing sites, CDMOs, warehouses, and 3PLs to ensure timely, compliant, and cost-effective distribution and the timely replenishment of inventory, including cold-chain and qualified-lane requirements.
  • Serve as a first responder to temperature excursions and deviations, partnering with Quality and external partners to assess impact, drive timely disposition, and support investigations and associated CAPAs.
  • Support commercial supply planning and provide inputs into the monthly S&OP process, surfacing supply risks, constraints, and recommended actions.
  • Work collaboratively with external partners, Quality, and Technical Operations to ensure GMP-compliant product availability, release, and distribution readiness.
  • Help implement and build tools and processes to scale and grow the supply chain, including leveraging AI and agentic capabilities to automate planning, reporting, and data workflows.
  • Support the tracking and reporting of key supply performance metrics (e.g., inventory coverage, batch on-time performance, plan adherence, expiry risk) to drive visibility, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintain clear, complete, and well-organized records across all areas of responsibility.
  • Other duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Life Sciences, or a related field or equal combination education/experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands‑on supply chain experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry, with direct experience in commercial supply planning.
  • Direct, hands‑on experience in the biologics space planning and scheduling the production of drug substance (DS) and drug product (DP).
  • Demonstrated, hands‑on experience managing the packaging of finished goods and planning, coordinating, and tracking the DP-to-FG progression, including managing FG scheduling to maximize product shelf life following DP release.
  • Hands‑on experience with inventory management and control across CDMOs and 3PLs in a GMP environment.
  • Shipping and logistics experience, including cold-chain distribution and coordination of material movements across the network.
  • Experience developing agentic capabilities using AI tools (e.g., Claude) to build automation, tooling, and reporting solutions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel and Smartsheet.
  • Working knowledge of GMP requirements, batch release, and the impact of temperature excursions and deviations on commercial supply.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with a demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships across internal functions and external partners.
  • Highly organized, detail‑oriented, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced, matrixed environment.
  • Comfortable managing ambiguity and helping build new processes and tools from the ground up.
  • Based at Zenas’ Waltham, MA headquarters (hybrid); ability to travel and to work flexible business hours to support global partners and time zones as required (approximately 10–15%).
