University of Utah is seeking a Manager, Clinical Research to lead end‑to‑end clinical research activities in the Cardiothoracic Division. You will plan, organize, direct and control internal/external customer service, HR and financial management for clinical data, analyses, monitoring of trials and study development.

The role emphasizes cross‑functional coordination, quality control and staff development to ensure program success and compliance with university policies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of related work experience or master's degree plus 4 years.
  • Experience planning, organizing and directing clinical research functions.
  • Ability to develop and implement customer service standards and administrative plans.
  • Experience in staff development and performance evaluations.

Manager, Clinical Research
Job Summary

Under minimal supervision, responsible for planning, organizing,directing and/or controlling all aspects pertaining to clinicalresearch functions of assigned department's internal and externalcustomer service, human resource and financial managementoperations pertaining to areas including (but not limited to)clinical data, standardization, statistical analysis, monitoringclinical trials, and development and completion of clinicalstudies. Acts as a catalyst between the department and itscustomers and staff to ensure continuity and quality of service andcare.

Responsibilities
  • 1. Forecasts, develops and implements policies and procedures inthe areas of customer service, human resources and budgetary goalsand objectives that are consistent with University of Utah'spolicies.
  • 2. Markets and promotes new and existing programs and services tointernal and external customers.
  • 3. Participates in University-wide committees to establish customerservice standards and administrative plans and policies.

  • 5. Ensures customer satisfaction by analyzing complaints, concernsand suggestions and providing appropriate follow-through.

  • 7. Ensures competency of staff through the development and/orpresentation of educational programs and through on going staffperformance evaluations.

Senior Supervisor, Clinical Research: Requires abachelor's (or equivalency) + 4 years or a master's (orequivalency) + 2 years of directly related work experience.

Manager, Clinical Research: Requires a bachelor's(or equivalency) + 6 years or a master's (or equivalency) + 4 yearsof directly related work experience.

Senior Manager, Clinical Research: Requires abachelor's (or equivalency) + 8 years or a master's (orequivalency) + 6 years of directly related work experience.
