Job summary

BMO Financial Group is seeking a Manager, Client Operations to lead and oversee client operations, onboarding, invoicing, and reporting for institutional clients. The role partners with ISS, Investment, Compliance, Trading, and State Street teams to ensure timely, accurate, and compliant service delivery.

The position emphasizes risk management, process improvements, and successful transformation initiatives across the operation.

• Act as operational contact for internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely issue resolution.
• Coordinate with ISS team for reporting and client-driven requirements.
• Identify operational risks and inefficiencies; implement control and automation enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and audit expectations.
• Lead operational initiatives, process enhancements and new client onboarding.

The Manager, Client Operations provides leadership and oversight across client operations, onboarding, invoicing, client reporting and other support functions. The role ensures timely, accurate, and risk‑controlled delivery of operational services across institutional while acting as an escalation point and partner to the Institutional Sales & Service (ISS), Investment, Compliance, Trading, and State Street teams.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership & Oversight

• Oversee daily operational processes across Client Operations.
• Oversee outsourced service providers (primarily State Street) ensuring SLA compliance and timely escalation.
• Monitor State Street processes including MYSS reporting.

Client Operations & Relationship Management

• Oversee client trade processing, invoicing, reporting, onboarding and transitions.
• Act as operational contact for internal and external stakeholders ensuring timely issue resolution.
• Coordinate with ISS team for reporting and client-driven requirements.

Risk Management & Controls

• Identify operational risks and inefficiencies; implement control and automation enhancements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory obligations and audit expectations.
• Maintain process documentation and support control testing.

Strategic Initiatives & Transformation

• Lead operational initiatives, process enhancements and new client onboarding

Salary

$65,600.00 - $122,600.00

The above represents BMO Financial Group’s pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
