The Manager, Card Business Analytics drives profitable growth, optimizes credit performance, and advances analytical rigor across Merrick Bank’s credit card business with a direct and meaningful P&L impact on the overall credit card business. This role contributes to a wide spectrum of programs and workstreams across the customer lifecycle - including acquisitions, credit line management, portfolio monitoring, valuations and more. Additionally, this role partners closely with cross-functional teams including Modeling, Finance, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance. The position requires strong quantitative expertise, strategic foresight, and the ability to translate insights into high-impact business decisions that support both near-term goals and long-term portfolio health. The Manager role contributes to a highly talented team working on data-driven solutions to core business problems leveraging cutting-edge analytics, with expertise in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel/VBA along with knowledge of PowerBI or Tableau.
Education & Experience: Bachelor's Degree in an analytical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Intelligence, Finance, or Engineering is required. Master’s Degree in an analytical or quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Business Intelligence, Finance, or Engineering is preferred. Two (2) years’ experience (with a Master’s Degree) or three (3) years’ experience (with Bachelor’s degree) in data analytics, strategy execution, decision engine, cloud data, or equivalent experience is required. Previous experience in financial services, consulting, or corporate strategy is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Capabilities: Profound expertise in Python, SQL, and Microsoft Excel/VBA. Proficiency with PowerBI, Tableau, or similar tools. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools like Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. Comfort with ambiguity and working hands-on with large analytical datasets to perform complex analyses. Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrated strengths with problem-solving, critical thinking, detail-orientation, and organization. Advanced quantitative skills, including knowledge of probability, statistical inference, and regression analysis principles.
