Job summary

Thomson Reuters is seeking a Manager, Business Operations within Product Engineering to drive operational excellence across the Bedrock LCR portfolio. You will lead daily operations, optimize resources, and deliver data-driven insights to leadership for strategic decisions.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, budgeting, and cross-functional collaboration with Finance and other teams to meet financial and customer satisfaction goals. Hybrid work options are available.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, technology, finance, or related field.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing operational cadences at scale.
  • Experience working with large, complex data sets to create insightful dashboards.
  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting and forecasting experience.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners.

Job Description

The Manager, Business Operations in Product Engineering will support all business operations activities within the Bedrock LCR portfolio (Legal, Content Engineering, Risk & Fraud). This role plays a critical part in driving financial performance, operating efficiency, and customer satisfaction by implementing and operationalizing strategic business plans. Acting as an operational partner, the Manager aligns cross-functional goals, optimizes resources, and delivers data-driven insights to leadership to support key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operational Leadership & Execution: Lead daily operations for the Bedrock LCR portfolio to support business objectives, achieve milestones, and contribute to overall financial goals.
  • Process Improvement & Efficiency: Identify, develop, and implement continuous improvement and change management initiatives to optimize resources, products, and services.
  • Performance Metrics & Reporting: Develop metrics for capturing, analyzing, and reporting operating effectiveness; deliver recurring and ad-hoc business intelligence reports to senior management.
  • Strategic & Financial Planning: Contribute to pillar-level strategic planning, resource forecasting, budget management, and workforce data initiatives in close alignment with business goals.
  • Team & Workflow Direction: Direct and review the work of enabling functions and administrative operational partners, driving performance and accountability.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and resolve moderately complex technical, operational, and organizational challenges by adapting existing frameworks and offering innovative perspectives.
  • Vendor Management: Establish, maintain, and negotiate day-to-day relationships with key external vendors, communicating complex concepts clearly and persuasively.
Required Qualifications
  • 6+ years of experience in strategy, operations, consulting, technology, finance, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of implementing and managing operational cadences at scale.
  • Strong experience working with large, complex data sets to create insightful, strategic views and dashboards.
  • Strong financial acumen with demonstrated experience partnering closely with Finance teams for budgeting and forecasting.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams and external partners within a highly matrixed environment.
  • Hands-on approach with strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting clearly and confidently to senior leadership.
  • Solid understanding of business operations, cross-departmental relationships, and relevant industry trends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience supporting a Technology, Engineering, or Product-led organization.
  • Experience operating effectively in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment with multiple competing priorities.
  • Demonstrated track record of having a strong bias for action.
  • Proficiency or hands-on exposure to the Microsoft 365 Suite.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The base compensation range varies across locations. For any eligible US locations, unless otherwise noted, the base compensation range for this role is $74,200 USD - $137,800 USD. For Ontario, Canada, the base compensation range for this role is $79,000 CAD - $129,000 CAD. Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual's knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay is one part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs. This role may also be eligible for an Annual Bonus based on a combination of enterprise and individual performance.
